Unbelievable that Nissan USA is aware of this problem but would not warn owners about the situation so they could head off bigger problems by fixing the smaller ones.

Our 2007 Nissan Armada was running just fine; never had any problems with; as a matter of fact, we had just gotten the oil changed and fluids checked and all that good stuff; a few days later I'm in the car line of my kids' school to pick them up; I pulled up, put the car in park while I waited for the kids; when they got to the car, I got to put it in shifter won't engage!; the gear shifter just slides up and down and the truck won't go; had to have it towed to a transmission shop which they told me, after it was there and they took it apart that there was coolant in the transmission from an internal crack in the radiator which in turn corroded the insides of the transmission; the owner of the shop explained this was a common problem with Armadas and Xterras and the he sees this kind of damage all the time from Nissan SUV's; I cannot believe there is no kind of recall, warning, or anything for this; had we know sooner; we either would have traded this veh for a newer one or not have bought it to begin with! Unreal! That was our Christmas gift to ourselves, a new Transmission! ugh!
