Armada SL V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 119,000 miles

Experiencing same problems mentioned by others about this same vehicle. It stutters and loses power at low rpm's, mostly between 1000-2000, tachometer fluctuates, speeding up it goes away. Today the Nissan dealership diagnosed the need for a new transmission, $7600. I have owned 6 Nissans consecutively, and this is the last!

Armada SV 5.6L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

At low speeds transmission gearing switches too fast bogging down any sort of engine power. At times the RPM's erratically fluctuate rapidly (especially at low speeds or climbing a hill at low speeds). The RPM gauge actually bounces. I get 4th gear at 28 miles per hour then 5th gear near/less than 40mph? It basically loses chokes down like it's flooded.....no real acceleration at that point unless I hammer the accelerator. Have tried having this repaired by my Nissan dealer on several occasions with no success (even with the Nissan bulletin).

Armada SL V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles

I bought this car brand new with only 15 miles. I was so excited since this car is based on the nissan patrol which is a very reliable truck in other parts of the world. So after about a month of ownership I started to experience a very bad/ unpleasant hesitation when shifting 3 to 4 gear. I went to the dealership and they performed a TCM update. Now I'm dealing with rpm fluctuations when driving around 40 or 50 MPH, I went to the dealership for the second time in less than a month and this time they performed a ECM update. But unfortunately no improvement, now the technician is saying that the truck is driving as its designed and they cannot do anything else but the truck is still doing the same thing rpm fluctuations, lack of power, rpm drops very low when is in 4 gear, sometimes I drive it in towing mode so it can keep the gears a little bit longer but in general is just a bad experience.

Armada SV 5.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

The transmission shifts incorrectly at low RPMs which causes the engine to chug and flounder. The dealership states there was an issue with the transmission control module, but it doesn't affect my VIN so there is nothing they can do.

Armada V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,000 miles

Vehicle loses rpms/acceleration trying to maintain 40 to 50 mph on a slight uphill grade. The RPMS go crazy bouncing around and stuttering.

Armada SL V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

shifting into a higher gear way too early

Transmission shift into 3rd too early 18 to 20 mph and often at least once a day it will downshift into 4th even before you're going 20 to 22 miles per hour at 1000 rpms and won't accelerate until you push the accelerator significantly to make it down shift or go into manual transmission mode. Causes very slow acceleration. It should not go into 4th until at least 30mph. this problem is unacceptable
