My vehicle would not start. I had to have it towed to my mechanic where his computer diagnostic found the problem to be the steering module that starts the vehicle. I had to have it replaced at my cost of $971. My mechanic informed me that this same problem was prevalent in the year prior to mine and that they were being repaired by the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer and was told there was no campaign for my particular VIN number. I don't understand why the year prior to mine is covered but mine is not. I am the original owner of the vehicle and I have had this vehicle serviced as required through the dealership originally, then continued by my mechanic. I would like to file a complaint against this manufacturer to get reimbursed for this defect.

After a few years or few thousand miles, the cvt transmission may partially fail and it may not be indicated properly in the dashboard. This results in vehicle not getting enough power to drive. So, vehicle may stall in the roads or highways causing safety issues to both vehicle occupants and others in the road/highways. Stopping and restarting may not solve the issue. It could move the vehicle a bit farther but it may be at a very slower speed than the posted limits. The vehicle may produce a unique sound at times. The indication "service engine soon" comes a few days later and it is possible that the user of the car may not fully realize the condition.

Water leaks into rear end of my car. It has been repaired twice and continues to leak hard rain, car washing, snow, ice, case leaking. Results are dampness, mold, odor. Contacted Nissan Corp. Once I found other owners complaining about same problem with same vehicle. I own two of these same cars and only one has this problem.

The car has a keyless ignition, which since October has been intermittently not starting without two or three attempts. On this occasion. After pressing the brake and the ignition button three and failing to start the car, I took my foot off the brake and turned to get my phone from the back seat when the engine suddenly started up all by itself. Although the car has been having start up problems for months that the mechanic hasn't been able to discover the reason for, this is the first time that the car actually started by itself. Additionally on December 17th, the car had previously been in the shop that day, and while driving that evening, the car began surging and shaking at every red light, while the brake was depressed, as if it wanted to continue going forward. We drove it straight back to the dealership where they couldn't reproduce the problem. While there, we asked about a strange noise that it makes on ignition. The mechanic told us that Nissan says it is the computer booting up. However, we listened to another Cube of the same year that was on the lot and it doesn't make that noise.
