Clicking or taping noise in the engine. Occurs mostly when cold during accelerating. Tends to improve somewhat after engine warms up. Took it to a Nissan Dealer. Was told it was the timing chain. Made the repair, cost a bunch and still no improvement. Dealer's Adviser would not return my emails and voice mail about the problem not being repaired.
I reported it to Nissan Corp.Customer Affairs. The dealer then contacted me and I returned my truck to be checked out. I live 65 miles one way and the dealer wouldn't supply a loaner car. Contacted Nissan Corp. again and dealer agreed to supply a loaner car. After further checking out my truck the Service Manager told me it was normal. I told him it was a new noise but again was told it was normal. He said he drove a new Nissan and it made the same noise. He also told me it was piston slap, a normal condition. I don't accept piston slap as normal and the noise had just started a few months ago. Nothing was done and i gave up! Nissan Corp. wanted to know what happened. I told them the Service Manager said it was normal!
