The manufacturer was contacted and informed her that the VIN was not included in the recall NHTSA#10V517000; component: Engine and engine cooling and offered no assistance. About 75 miles later, the fuel gauge began to function properly and the check engine turned off. The contact referenced recall 10V075000 (fuel system, gasoline: Storage:auxillary tank) that believed to be directly related to the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The fuel lever sensor and gauge assembly were repaired at the owner's expense. The contact also filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000. The current mileage was 80,266. Updated 07/01/10 the consumer stated the problem was resolved and he was reimbursed. However, the timing chain had to be replaced.
