My vehicle was sitting in a parking lot at work when I came out to a shattered window; called police and was informed that the window had blown OUT not IN and police indicate that the window had no sign of criminal mischief and had shattered due to a manufacturing defect. Took truck to dealership, was informed that the window had been tampered with and that Nissan was not responsible and to claim it on my insurance even though I had a police report contrary to the fact. Took truck to Safelite and repairman informed me that Nissan and Ford use the same manufacturer for their windows and that Ford had finally admitted a problem with their rear windows shattering and did a recall, told me to check for recall from Nissan as well; no such luck. Nissan's maintenance assistant manager informed me that they had not heard of this happening before. Have to realize that this truck is only 5 months old.
