Bought the truck brand new from Birchwood Nissan in Winnipeg (a large reputable dealership) on May 30/2015. We noticed wet carpet at the passenger/right rear door in early June 2015 after a rain storm. We have had, on average this summer, one inch (@ 2.5cm)of rain per week in June, July and August. Two inches(5cm) fell today (Friday September 4/2015). With each rain fall the carpet was visibly wet along the plastic trim piece at the door.
The dealership replaced the entire rear (sliding) window assembly with a brand new assembly shipped from Vancouver, BC.
It did not fix the situation. During this last rain storm, I witnessed water entering the passenger cabin at the upper rear pillar anchor bolt location for the right rear seat belt harness. The passenger cabin is starting to get that wet/mold-like smell.
My other real concern is the premature rusting. My hypothesis is water is entering the passenger cabin from the roof where a roof rack would be fastened. Dealership will be investigating this further.
I will mention 2 more issues that I have had with my 2015 Nissan Frontier.
They are :
*fuel pump sending unit -reading incorrect temperature at 200km (horrible fuel economy) Dealership replaced.
*Headlights needed to be reset/aligned at 1500km. rectified by dealership.
Three issues in three months!
My 2002 Toyota which I bought new NEVER had issues like this. Come to think of it, My Toyota didn't have any quality/integrity issues inside or outside of the warranty period. Still have it. Still drive it. It only has 300,000km too!
