Since purchasing my Juke 2 years ago with 33,000 miles when I bought it (it now has over 100k miles), every time I drive from Oregon to California (about 5 times a year), if it's hot outside and especially if going up hills for long periods of time in the middle of the day when hottest, my car will suddenly just decelerate, down from 70 to 30 or 40 in no time. This has almost caused me to have major accidents along the IT, which is a major highway where even trucks are driving fast. I've literally had to drive the car overnight so that it's cool enough outside for it.
Yet today on my way back to Oregon the engine did the same thing. No warning light, no nothing. No explanation. It's not overheating and my fluids are all fine. Obviously I'm not an idiot - after experiencing this repeatedly now for 2 years, I want to make sure that I am making a report because I may die at some point and this complaint will hopefully allow many people to sue Nissan as well as the government that continues to not force a recall on this engine. From the complaints I've read this year, Juke is the worst, and Nissan has been fully aware of this problem and continues to leave all owners at serious risk as driving on major highways when your car radically slows down, it's an accident just waiting to happen.
Right this minute I am sitting off of the offramp in BFE. There is nothing around me at all but barren waste land in central California. I am totally stuck here with nothing for 25 miles! No dealerships and no mechanics for hundreds of miles. I have to sit here and pray to God that it's going to start and be able to make it the 25 miles just to civilization. Is there really no protocol in place for such severe engine issues? It appears Nissan refuses to pay for a new engine or turbo. They are fully aware at this point exactly what is happening to all of us, and continue to just ignore this issues with b. s. Excuses like they can't figure out what it's doing because it doesn't do it for the mechanic.
I dare any Nissan executive or mechanic to get in any 2013 Juke with over 35,000 miles on a hot day and try make it over the Siskiyou or Tejon passes without this occurring to the car. It's a good bet it will occur. So if they want to... Know what it's like by all means get out there and recreate the situation that is known to cause this!! And this is just one known reason, others are having same problems with the engine in different scenarios. It NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES AND I HOPE ITS NOT ME! I'M DEAD SERIOUS WHEN I SAY THIS TOO. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PUT A NEW TURBO OR ENGINE INTO THIS CAR, AND WHY ON EARTH SHOULD ANY OF US LEMON OWNERS BE FORCED TO PAY SUCH RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS FOR A KNOWN ISSUE? IT'S JUST ONE, THEY DON'T LIKE TO HAVE TO RECALL BECAUSE OF THE SIGNIFICANT COST ON THEIR END!! THATS EXACTLY WHY THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO LOOK OUT FOR THE OWNERS AND MAKE NISSAN DO WHAT IS LEGALLY AND MORALLY RIGHT TO DO!!
