Driving from CA to TX (moving)... engine unexpectedly (and without any warning of any kind) suddenly threw a rod and busted a softball-sized hole in the engine. Was cruising ~75mph at the time, with about 400 miles left on a 2,000 mile trek. Oil gushed everywhere and coated entire car.
Nissan in Wichita Falls, Tx quoted me a $10.5K engine replacement repair cost. They called it a "random occurrence" unrelated to any previous Nissan dealership repair work or any roadwork repaving we drove over.
Not worth it for this piece of crap engine build. It'll only fail again.
Low mileage doesn't count when warranty expires based on time owned, not mileage driven.
Notes: Only 37K miles on it (was hoping to resell it with low mileage someday)... I had it tuned up just before the journey. Had new Yokohama tires put on just before trip.
