Leaf SL

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,000 miles

Brakes will come on while driving alone with no other cars, pedestrians or other obstructions around. They only come on for a second or two, and did not stop the car completely, however, a triangular warning sign appeared on the dashboard while this was happening and disappeared when the brakes released.

Took the car in to a Nissan dealer, but all he said to do was keep the front grill area clean. Several days later, it happened again, so it's not a problem of keeping the front of the car clean.

I would like to permanently disable this feature, but each time I do, it resets itself at the next boot up.

There's no need for this automatic braking feature. If I need a computer to tell me when to put on the brakes, I shouldn't be driving. Nissan needs to remove this feature as it has already caused accidents.

There needs to be a re-call of this car - 2018 Leaf SL.
