I cant believe there isn't a recall on the 1992 maxima's. I had problems with the VTC (Variable Timing Control) sprocket. Without this part functioning properly the car bucks violently when you're in high rpm's sometimes causing it to stall. When you keep it in low rpm's it kicks and still stalls.

Extreme engine noise. A semi doesn't make this much noise. It sounds like it's coming apart.

Very embarrassing to drive. From what I can understand, it's a very expensive fix. Nissan should step up and fix this problem because they do know that it's a problem.

This generation of maximas are the 92-94 se models with DOHC motors. They have bad VTC sprokets. Every nissan dealer knows this problem, nissan fixed the problem for 94 models but anyone who bought a 92-93 is screwed. They should have a recall.

Why should we suffer, when the motor blows and you get a used one its gonna have bad VTC sprokets which cause motor noise. what do i do but look for a 94 maxima crashed for a motor? What the hell, im never buying a nissan product again and i love their 300zx s. Their loss.
