Our confirmation for earlier complaint is : 10628840 since we bought the car, it is an on going problem. We had engine light and suspension problem. While driving car some times starts wavering and jumping. Also gets very difficult to control the steering. Many of the Nissan places have charged us a healthy amount of money but the problem stays the same. Can not be driven on highways. I have submitted all the documents with the previous complaint. Please advise and help us. Thank you

Since I owned this car I have multiple issues. The check engine light is constantly on. I took the vehicle to a mechanic and I was told the code was indicating the coils were bad. Also, I have experienced the slip and tcs light come on. The vehicle shakes and loses power. On top that I can't get the car to pass inspection. My radio also has a electrical problems, it went dark. I feel we should all file a class action law suit.

I believe, the engine light problem was there since I bought it because after driving couple of months (1000-1500 miles) the light appeared. First, it will come and go after approx 61,000 miles it became permanent. In 2008 I took the vehicle to Nissan dealership bill kay at downers grove il paid approx. $2,000 for fixing the problem but after some time it again came up and started flashing. In 2010 again I took it to maineke auto work shop and got the ignition coils changed, silencer/exhaust changed and paid almost $1,200 but again the same problem of engine light came back. The problom goes on and on, recently I got the new battery and took it to the gerald Nissan at ogden ave. Naperville, il they said they changed the coils but light came back the very next day. I paid $800. Now they are again mentioning there is a problem with sensor. Please advise and help me with this problem. These cars are suppose to be sturdy and not have such problem so frequently and I am sick and tired of spending money on this car.

We own a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE. We have had multiple issues with it. At around 68,000 miles we had to pay around $1000 to replace all of the ignition coil wires on the car because it would stall and quit running. We took it to wallace Nissan in kingsport Tennessee and had it repaired. They told us then that it was a " known issue" with no official recall from Nissan so we would have to cover the full cost out of pocket. Next we have always had these "noises" in the front wheels that they keep telling us is from rusted brake dust shields. Now the car vibrates all over the road, going to a mechanic tomorrow, most likely rack & pinion issue. While under the hood today trying to figure out the steering issue, hubby noticed that the brace that holds the motor & radiator is severely rusted....we've replaced multiple O2 sensors, mass air flow sensors, constant issues with brakes since we've owned this thing... etc etc Nissan has major issues with this car from what I am reading..... what a shame they refuse to fix their mistakes.

Ses, tcs, and slip lights on. Engine running roughly. Dx from auto zone on ses is ignition coils. Upon checking internet, this is a very common problem with Maximas and can cause engine failure. Requires replacement of all 6 coils. Very costly. Is there a recall" recommendations state that O2 sensor should also be replaced. Any possibility that the Nissan company will repair for free since this is such a common problem and must be a defect"
