Disgusted with Nissan at the moment, received a bill of 1600. to replace 6 coils and O2 sensor. Promptly transported my car elsewhere to have fixed. Where the estimate has been much lower. They speak of quality, my car only has 76000. miles on it, and it's 10years old, I don't know about this quality thing they speak of, I'm totally disappointed in Nissan right now. My next stop after this, is to email the main office of Nissan, the BBB, and consumer reports. I wish everyone future luck with their vehicles. This is an obvious defect that should be under lifetime warranty for the car.

I have replaced the coils several times since I have had it ; probably a few a year and they are not cheap. Now my check engine light is on again and it says its an 02 sensor. Not too long after the light came on, it went off and I was driving down the interstate and it came back on again and this time started running hot also. I have had huge trouble ever since. I have changed the thermostat several times now and flushed the radiator ; changed the cap but nothing is helping. Nothing seems to be leaking. I am not sure what the problem is except everyone keeps saying its an air pocket. They have tried to get it out a few times now and its still running hot!! I am having to add fluids to it alot and it will make it around 30-40 miles before running hot. I have to baby it really bad bc it acts like it doesn't want to go, sputters a little from time to time.. I am so angry at this car that I cant see straight. I have had a few Maxima's now and its seems that this is the worst one by far. I will probably never have one again, I used to love them but it is very aggravating to say the least. Nissan needs to fix this problem bc the coils and 02 sensors seem to be an everyday problem according to the complaints I've read.

Engine light was ON, Took it to Aamco and they mentioned its due to the thermostat. They replaced the Thermostat and coolant.
I have had worst experience with Nissan Maxima, Will never consider Nissan again in my Life, neither would recommend to others.

Had to replace O2 Sensor 2 times in 4 years. Nissan said it was not uncommon. Now I have to change the sensor in my 2002 Pathfinder. 3 bad sensors in within 2 years. There is a quality assurance problem here.

I changed all 6 coils and figured the check engine light was off for good, it passed inspection but soon after the light turned back on. 02 sensor needed to be changed and had my local repairman do it and just around $205 price tag. Now it seems to be fixed, thank god!
