Maxima MEL 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 168,370 miles

I replaced the timing chain which was VERY expensive. There is a whining noise when I first start the car that is very annoying. I was told that there is something wrong with the tensioner pulley. I watched a Youtube video that explains that it is a manufacturing flaw and another website said that there are numerous lawsuits being filed for this problem.

Maxima SL 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 180,000 miles

Well, since 2 years ago my 04 Nissan Maxima is making a really bad noise from the left side of the engine. My mechanic said that is the timing belt assembly .. and that I should get a timing belt replacement kit done.. (It will cost me around $2000)

Maxima 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,666 miles

With a car that has 39666 miles this should never have happened. What type of equipment are they using these days when they make things that they charge an arm and a leg for.. We have never had a problem like this and our other car (GM) has 160,000 miles on it.
