The contact owned a 2006 Nissan Maxima. While driving 45 mph, a popping sound came from the rear of the vehicle. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another vehicle. The driver sustained injuries to the chest, neck, and both knees, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 136,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Maxima. When the contact took the vehicle in to have the tires balanced, she was informed of a crack in the rear suspension subframe. She did not notice any differences in the vehicle prior to the failure and the vehicle has not been diagnosed. NHTSA campaign id number 06V046000 (suspension:rear) was referenced. The current and failure mileages were 45,676.

Purchased used 06 Maxima in Aug-Sep time frame. Vehicle had problems with noise coming from suspension either front or back(unknown at the time). Noise never went away. Recent oil change revealed rear suspension replacement by Goodyear service rep. Check with NHTSA and found out recall for power seats and rear suspension. Recall repairs was not done to car. Does dealership require knowledge of all recalls for used vehicles.
