The AC Compressor goes into free spin which in turn blows out the safety valve and then locks down the whole system.Took the car back to Benton Nissan in hoover alabama. They stated they have had many of them doing this and it should be recalled but it wont be.They wanted almost 1200.00 to replace and it is not covered by warranty nor the extended warranty. I took the car to my normal mechanic and he stated in the past 3 months he has replace at least 8 compressors on maxima's with the same problems.All of them have blown out the safety.
