About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Car idling, jerking and hesitating at 30mph. When accelerating it does not. The car is going but from a slow speed going to a higher mph, it will stay stuck and if you floor it, it just won't move. This is dangerous. It's happened on the freeway three times. Now the brake fluid is leaking everywhere. This is a second issue. Transmission. Engine. Cvt, ECM issue and mass air flow sensor and pvc sensor must not be on correctly. I have videos. The service dept has seen them but they can't seem to duplicate the issue.

I was driving my vehicle on the interstate 485 and was pressing the gas going 70 mph and the car slowed down on its own to 30 mph which almost caused me to have an accident. My foot was all the down on the gas petal touching the floor. I was able to pull off to the side, thank goodness. I have never been so scared in my life. I do have a video of it happening,

I went in a restaurant and when I came out to start my car it would not start out of now where no warning signs it just made some clicking sound like it was attempting to start but would not catch. I replaced the battery but the engine light was on and it lacked power. It would not accelerate past 60 with it being floored... I had diagnostic done which gave me a could that the ECM (electric control module) shorted..

I bought this car from a use car dealer on 01/31/2017. On 02/08/2017 my daughter told me to go on lainey and enter my VIN number because there was a recall on my 2016 Nissan Maxima sr. I called lynch Nissan and told them I had purchased a car with recall on it with a fire hazard and they told me to bring it in on Monday, 02/12/2017. I took the car in for the repair and they called me on Wednesday, 02/14/2017 to pickup my car. Because I was at work, I asked if I could pick up the car the next day. I was told no because they had provided me a rental car and I had to return it on the day the work was completed. Once I returned the rental car, I was told the rental car was fine. When I went to the service center I was asked to sign a paper but they would have to mail me the papers stating what was done to my car. I have never been asked to signed something and then told they can't provide me a copy. Because this car was sold to me without my knowledge of it having a fire hazard, I called Nissan (nessie) and asked them to buy the car back and they refused. Nissan is now saying everything has been taken care of but I have no documentation of what they asked me to sign nor what type of work was performed on my car. Because I had no knowledge of this recall before I purchase this car and not having a copy of what Nissan asked me to sign, I am now afraid to drive this car because of the fire hazard.
