Own a 2004 Nissan Murano. Sun visor on both driver and passenger sides have failed to stay in their proper all-the-way flip up or down positions. They would suddenly and unexpectedly drop to obstruct the vision of the driver. Said problem is prevalent in models 2003-2007 and has been cited by a lot of owners. Dealer quoted cost $300+ to replace.

I own a 2004 Nissan Murano. Front wheel drive. My driver side sun visor does not stay up any more? it started falling down in 2007, by 2009 I had to remove the lighted mirror to decrease the weight so that the visor would not have the added weight pulling the visor down. I tried to wrap duck tape around the visor plastic tab but the visor stills falls after awhile. It now just falls every time I go out for a drive. Nissan dealership and auto maker will not make good on this defective product!!!

We purchased a certified used 2004 Nissan Murano in March 2006. Within 6 mos, the driver's side sun visor started falling by itself, impairing the vision of the driver unexpectedly. The problem worsened until it just now hangs permanently straight down. In order to drive safely, we have to drive with it permanently to the side position which then blocks our side vision. There is no way to drive the Murano without vision impairment of some sort.

2004 Nissan Murano driver side sun visor falling down blocking drivers vision which could lead to accident. Nissan has manufacured this as a defective part as many of them are facing the same issue. The driver side sun visor does not stay up. When driving, it will occasionally and randomly fall into the down position, blocking the view of the road. This has happened at least a dozen times in the past year and a half of driving my 04 Murano. The last time it happened it was at night and I happened to be driving at night. The visor dropped while in the middle of going around a curve. Luckily no one was in the oncoming traffic lane and disaster was averted. But this could have been a very ugly incident. I have not replaced the visor components yet, because of the cost of the repair.

Driver and passenger side sun visors fall with any minor bump (or even without any jarring at times). Not only does it startle the driver when it happens (possibly leading to erratic driving, but it blocks the driver's field of vision creating a further safety hazard. Many times simply raising the visor up does not work and it falls again leaving the driver trying to handle the car safely with one hand while simultaneously trying to keep the visor out of his field of vision.

Started falling as a result of any jarring while driving (pot hole, uneven road, etc). Now, will happen when suddenly pressing on the brakes while in city traffic. Really is a safety hazard. First, the surprise of the visor suddenly dropping down and second having your view obscured while in traffic. Really need to look into this issue.
