Hi just discovered my 2005 Murano has total rust on subframe to the point car unsafe to drive. Are there any recalls for repairs or this occurring frequently. This is a serious safety hazard. If it wasn't for my mechanic friend something bad could have happened or I could have caused an accident. I was driving on the highway on dry pavement and when going over bumps notice car shifting quite a bit to the point of almost losing control. When I parked my car noticed one of my rear tires was slanted inward. My mechanic saw it and said not to drive it.

Subframe broke between the rear wheels while driving on city street. Mechanic inspected it and subframe is rusted from inside out. Mileage on the car is 150,000 miles and I am the first owner that took very good care of the car, from keeping it in my garage, to regular maintenance and car washing to prevent rust. Car is inoperable waiting for the part to come in for replacement for 6 days. Nissan had a recall on this model for 2003-2007 year of manufacturing, however I had not received any notice.

Rear doors and rear hatch will not open when using remote key fob. Nissan say you have to replace right front, left and right rear door actuators for about $1500.

The liftgate won't latch when closed, therefore the tailgate is not properly secured when shut. I have had this repaired once before and it worked for a time, but has now reoccured.

The problem with my car was the involuntary locking of all doors without my involvement whenever I parked the car somewhere. This proved very inconvenient at times when I didn't have my car keys with me. The dealer kept the car for a few days only to tell me they could not solve the problem. They didn't even offer to contact Nissan with the problem.

Nissan Murano door actuators have failed on 2 of 4 doors, leaving me unable to enter/exit my vehicle with the remote. In addition, I cannot open the trunk of the vehicle unless the passenger door actuator is working, which it does not. The inside door locks do not move, so I do not know if my car is ever locked or unlocked, again, safety concern. Please investigate this, as I know other owners have complained and Nissan continues to ignore this as an issue!!!

Door lock actuators began to fail in our 2005 Nissan Murano. They stopped responding suddenly and when we thought the car was locked, it was in fact opened, which is a safety issue. It is a very common issue and usually all actuator go out at the same time. We have replaced driver's door actuator (that cost us $400) and now have to deal with other 3. hopefully Nissan will recognize this as a serious problem and will issue a recall.

The driver side door does not lock or unlock with key fab. The rear lift gate has the same problem. The door has to be manually unlocked and lock. The rear lift gate does not unlock and can not open.

Original owner of Murano, purchased new in 2005. The door locks fail to lock and un-lock. This has occured at vairous times when using any means available to lock and un-lock the doors: The key fob, interior driver side and passenger side locks button on door, and manual manipilation of the interior door lock(s). The issue is experienced with all 4 door locks and occassionally the rear hatch (not opened as often, so it may occure more frequently, just not aware of it). The condition worsens in the warm weather (live in fl). Have at times been unable to get in or out of my vehicle until all of the above means tried repeatedly until one works. Have found that I can only get in my car during warm weather if I use the fob to roll the front windows down and then reach in the vehicle and manually unlock the car door.

In mid Jan, 2013 I noticed that after locking with the key fob, the front door remained unlocked, and would not lock from inside the car with either the individual lock control or the whole car lock control. The only way to lock the door is with your key, from the outside. In the event of an accident you do not have the added safety of a locked drivers door. All other doors are operating correctly at this time. The web seems to be filled with other problems like this and I wonder if they realize the danger they face when all doors are not locked in the event of an accident.

My vehicle driver side seat frame broke on 11/9/2010 approximately around 6:00 pm. As I was driving my Murano Nissan on the expressway to go home after work, I heard a hard snap and felt a little jerk towards my left side. Unsure of what it was, I continued to drive my vehicle down the road. As I was driving my vehicle, I felt a rough thumping underneath my seat. I thought for a minute that my front driver side tire was going flat or had some kind of problem. As I drove further, I felt my front seat sway back and forth, as I accelerated and as I was braking. I accelerated again to make sure that the swaying motion was actually happening. Again, the swaying motion (back and forth) of the front seat occurred. When I got home, I checked the seat to see what had happened. The left side of the seat is broken completely loose from the track and moves freely. I took it to the Nissan dealership in tulsa to have it checked today, and was informed that I need a new frame for the driver's seat, and that it would cost me approximately $1275 installed. I have done enough research online to discover that this is a defect for the Nissan Murano for the years that include the 2005. I do not feel safe driving my car down the rode with the seat able to move so freely. I am also concerned that the right side of the seat is going to break loose at well, and then I'll end up laying on my back in the back seat while I'm trying to drive down the road.

Driver side exterior door handle came completely out of the door when I tried to open it one day. Nissan dealerships want up to $400 to fix this problem but they can't tell me how its actually broken without taking the door panel off. I don't know if a bolt or fastener came loose or if there is an actual break...nonetheless I have to stick my fingers inside where the handle used to be and pull a tiny lever to open the door.
