The spring fails in the sun visor of the 2005 Nissan Murano, causing it to fall suddenly downward, suddenly obscuring the driver's view. Nissan refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem, and this should definitely be a recall. Nissan forums indicate that this has been a problem for some time.

I am not sure of the events leading up to the failure; other than normal usage. The failure is the driver side visor will not stay up. It occurs all of the time. My wife is the primary driver and is able to deal with it easier than I because she is shorter. However when I drive the vehicle I have to move the visor to the side. The consequences are the visor blocks my visual view and my head comes close to hitting it when I drive. If I remove the visor then bright sun prohibits my view. This is a serious concern of mine. I wish to replace it but I am unable to find one online. In searching online I found the following thread. www.nissanforums.com/truck-SUV/113557-Murano-sun-visor-failure.html what worries me here is that it seems to be common problem. In fact one poster than posts as a Nissan technician even claims that it is a common problem. I find that disturbing. Nothing was done to correct the failure as I am unable to find the part. I could go to the dealer but then I find $200 for a defect replacement to be a bit much.

While navigating a left turn, the drivers side seat suddenly titled to the left causing the consumer to lean against the door and bump her head on the drivers side window. The sudden shift also caused an injury to the consumers lower back. The bracket sheared due to what the consumer believed was a manufacturing defect.

While driving down the highway I could hear what could best be described as a combination click and snap. At the same time I felt the lower left side of the drivers seat move. After further investigation (pictures available), I found that a supporting bracket has sheared in two places. This causes the seat to be very loose. One of the power seat functions will cause the seat to raise up only on the right side.
