The sun visor on the driver's side will not stay in the upward or "not in use" position. I can be driving and it will fall down blocking my vision while driving. In the beginning I thought it was only my car but after researching and talking with dealership it is a common malfunction. Dealership said they are aware but the problem cannot be fixed by recall because Nissan has not given them the "okay." In order to fix problem a new visor would need to be installed with visor part alone costing $200+. I currently have to pull over the extension visor on the passenger side to hold up the driver's side sun visor, and the driver's side visor will still fall down at random times blocking my vision and at times at very crucial moments. I feel this is a major safety hazard and a defect product installed by Nissan. In the beginning I tried to get Nissan to fix but to no avail. I would have filed a complaint before now but was not aware of your website, which I believe Nissan dealerships should have filed with Nissan, and may have but nothing has been done about this safety hazard. I hope your company can help get this recalled before someone driving a Murano with this defect gets injured or causes injury to other motorist.

I am the original owner of 2005 Murano. I noticed a problem with hydroplaning soon after purchase, and have always been extremely careful and on guard when driving in rain or even when streets are wet. This would happen with brand new tires and tires that were slightly worn so the tires don't seem to be the problem, unless its the type of tire but its not the tread on the tire. The car came with Goodyear Eagle P235/65 R18 tires and I have replaced with same tires when Nissan service department advised of tread wear. On July 22, 2013 I was on my way home from gatlinburg with daughter and 2 year old granddaughter in car. We were caught in downpour going through knoxville. I truly cannot believe we are alive. My car would continually lose traction and it would slide to one side until it would grab traction before going off the road or wrecking. Something is terribly wrong with the Murano in regards to hydroplaning. I also have had the problem with the driver's side visor coming down and will not stay up since a couple years after I bought the car. I love everything else about my Murano and due to hydroplaning safety issue I will not be purchasing another one. Please take this issue up with Nissan before people are killed. I cannot afford to replace my Murano at this time so if there is anything that can be done please, please help me take care of this issue. This is definitely a manufacturer problem. There is no doubt people have been killed because of this problem but was not proven because didn't live to tell what happened. What can I do at this point to prevent becoming a statistic and more importantly ensure the safety of my precious cargo? I feel lucky to be alive.

The visor will not stay up. It is dangerous because I am 6'1"and my son is 6'9" and we can't see out of the window when we drive. This is supposedly a common thing with this car. It costs like $300. To fix. It is a safety issue and nissa knows about it and should have to fix it without charge.

Original owner, purchased new in 2005. The driver side visor will not stay in up position and must be held in place by other means.(I am currently using a bungee cord that is attached to the visor clip and ran across to the drivers side roof handle above window to hold the visor up so that I have adequate visibility through the front windshield). When attempting to reposition the visor in the up and lock position I heard a popping sound. After that, the visor has failed to stay locked in the up and flat position, keeping it flush against the interior roof. If not using another means to keep the visor up, it will remain in the down position and blocks drivers view. Does not have the flexibility to remain at an angle to block sun, only hangs straight down.

When driving over a bump or driving on a bumpy road the driver's side sun visor falls or drops down unexpectedly. It appears that the visor is not tightly held by the bracket that it sits on. When this occurs, there is complete loss of vision through the front windshield. When driving at higher speeds (or any speed for that matter), this loss of vision might cause an accident if the visor is not raised up quickly enough. I have researched this problem online and I have found that there are many, many other Nissan Murano owners with the same complaint, especially for owners with model years 2005, 2006 and 2007. This is definitely something that should be investigated before there are any serious accidents or loss of life as a result of this defect. This is something that should be recalled and replaced with a new sun visor. The passenger's side sun visor does not exhibit this behavior. This situation has happened to me numerous times.

Both sun visors on my Nissan Murano started flopping vertically down. They do not stay up, nor tilted downwards against the windshield. As a result my view gets disturbed while startling me. Have checked with the dealer when getting another repair. They say that it costs $300-$500 each to replace them. No used sun visors are available in the after market as all sun visors tend to go bad. This is a 100% common safety issue with all Murano's and very expensive replacement where this should not have happened. I am 51 years old and never experienced this with any cars I have ever had.

It falls down unexpected while driving suddenly blocking the driver's view of oncoming traffic, traffic signals, etc. I (and many other owner based on blogs and reviews) have contacted Nissan several times, filed a complaint and requested a recall, to no avail. This is clearly a safety issue that should have been addressed in earlier vehicles. Undoubtedly there have been accidents and near misses due to this obstruction to the driver's view of the road and traffic flows. A recall needs to be called to get this matter addressed especially since the manufacturer is well aware of the hazard it creates and that the component failure has been in existence since at least 2003.
