Just broke while driving. Thankfully only going 25. Tried welding it. Only lasted about ten days. Going to order bracket from Amazon and have it installed. Seems extremely dangerous to me.

broken seat

I had an extended warranty, but the seat wasn't covered. I took the car in due to broken engine mounts! The seat belt broke 2 days after my mother died - two weeks ago. I took the car to the dealer last week and had to call them because thy didn't call me to tell me the part was in. When I got it fixed today, the rep explained how the seat motor was bent and the next time the seat belt brakes, it won't be covered because the seat is broken.

The only way to truly repair is to have a new seat installed, which is half of the value of the car. Beware of the Murano

Murano V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

Took vehicle to the dealer, they said it would cost $1200 to replace the seat. I asked if the motor could be replaced, they said no, the only repair is total replacement. After we got home my wife noticed that the seat would not stay in place. Now it's kind of like sitting in a chair with the legs on one side shorter than the other, except they tend to wobble. Also recently checked a salvage yard about a replacement seat, and was told this is a notorious problem with this car, and they can't find seats anywhere.

If it's that bad, why hasn't there been a recall, since the seat in this condition could be dangerous? Won't be looking at Nissan again when replacement time comes around!

I feel like this problem should be fixed by the manufacturer. I purchased this car because I heard how "safe" Nissan's vehicles are but let me tell you I do not fell safe at all driving in my Murano with a wobbling seat. I feel as though this shouldn't be my problem or expense to fix I paid $15,000.00 for this used car and I should not be worried about driving down the road and wondering if my seat is going to end up in the rear of my car and cause an accident or death. Plus I have had to replace calibers on my vehicle due to the caliber freezing up on the rear of my vehicle. Please recall these issues especially the seats before a serious accident occurs resulting in legal actions. I hope you take the time to address these issues. I love my Nissan's I own two however I want to feel safe in my car again.

NHTSA DENIED COMPLAINT, DRIVERS SEAT WAS TIPPING OVER WHEN I DROVE AND TURNED CORNERS. SAFETY ISSUE. BY NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THIS, AND NEITHER DID NISSAN, MYSELF AND OTHERS HAVE USED OUR OWN METHODS TO REPAIR. NOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SELL? AND WHAT UNSUSPECTING BUYER WILL PURCHASE MY HOMEMADE REMEDY? DEALER WANTED OVER $1000 TO FIX. I HAD BROTHER WELD IT, NOW WHEN I RESELL ITS SOMEONE ELSE'S PROBLEM AND DEFINITELY KEPT A SECRET.

I own a 2006 Maurano and I also have a broken seat! I went to the dealer and they told me what is was before looking at it. I went home and scooted behind my back drivers seat and saw the broken bracket. The dealer said it would cost $1200. I took it to a body shop. The do not want to try to weld because it can burn up the chair. I tried JD weld, it did not work. so I have a wobbly chair especially when hitting bumps. Really brought the driving quality down in the Vehicle.
