Drivers seat in my 2006 Murano came loose from it's mounting Saturday while driving down the highway. It is like the seat came loose from the outer mounting bracket. When I transfer my weight to my left, while sitting in the drivers seat, I can feel the seat tip sideways to an alarming degree. When I make a left turn, I feel like the seat is going to roll right out of the drivers door. Very unsettling. I took the car today to my Nissan dealer. The dealer was familiar with the problem. Told me a bracket had snapped under the seat and that the "seat adjuster assembly" needed to be replaced. Cost: $1200 including labor. This seems outrageous on several levels, not the least of which appears to be a major safety flaw in the materials used to hold that seat in place. I was advised by service writer not to drive the car, as the seat could break off and roll backwards while I am driving. Fyi, the vehicle has been driven normally without any off roading, ever. I weigh 190 pounds, so I'm not huge. I'm shocked that there hasn't been a recall on this. I googled the problem today and found an active community of disgruntled Murano owners with similar experiences. I think your organization should look into this problem.

The seat is very loose and therefore very unsafe. It could lead to an accident or cause excessive injury if an accident occurred as there is no support to keep the seat from moving. Drivers seat frame snapped in half. This car has never been in any accidents so there is no reason for the actual frame to have broken. It is very loose and wobbly and therefore very unsafe to drive. It would not hold up in the case of an accident. This is not something that should break with no reason as it is the structure of the vehicle. This is very unsafe and could cause an accident or cause excessive injury as a result of an accident.

Similar complaint re: Driver's seat on 2006 Nissan Murano. I recently purchased the car used (1 month ago). The seat, automatically adjusts for the driver when the vehicle is turned on and has been operating without concern. Today, the driver's seat came off track without warning, now leans way to the left and is extremely unsafe. I drove it home and will take it to dealer tomorrow. I did call Nissan re: Recall and was informed there was no recalls on this vehicle despite the hundreds of similar complaints. I intend to do what I can to ensure it is addressed by Nissan and the repairs made.

Operating my 2006 Nissan Murano on the roadway when there was a sudden pop and snap noise from beneath the drivers seat. Fortunately I was able to maintain control and was not involved in a collision. The drivers seat know is loose and tilts to the left and is very unsafe, especially when cornering. I went to a local Nissan dealership and was told that the seat rail had broken and needed to be repaired at a cost of $1200.. upon further investigation I learned that I am among many people who have experienced this broken seat rail syndrome. Driver seat on 2006 Nissan Murano dropped and shifted abruptly causing me to temporarily loose control and cross the center line into oncoming traffic on highway 15 in Virginia. Luckily I was able to regain control and get back into my lane before a collision. Subsequent examination of the seat revealed a hinged connecting member at the rear left section of the seat frame of the 10 way power driver's seat had failed causing the seat to fall and shift to the left. Frederick Nissan identified part number 87450-ca66A as needing to be replaced to fix the seat. The problem was reported to Nissan America and was not considered a safety issue.

2006 Nissan Murano drivers seat and sun visor. My 2006 Nissan Murano has had two parts fail that I believe are a safety concern and warrant a recall. The 1st part is the drivers seat. I'm not a large person but the left side seat bracket broke and now my seat rocks left and right. I can't raise the seat up and down because only the right side works. The seat also bounces up and down. Apparently this is a very common problem with the Murano and Nissan's excuse is "wear and tear." Seriously"?" Nissan offered to replace the driver's seat for $1000 +. the second part that has failed is the driver's sun visor. Whenever I hit a bump, the sun visor swivels down and totally blocks the drivers view out the window. This is not safe. Nissan offered to replace the sun-visor for $350.

From that point forward the driver's seat has felt unstable and would move freely during turns and normal acceleration/braking. The drivers seat in my wife's 2006 Murano is tilted towards the drivers side door and rocks and appears "loose" when entering or exiting the vehicle. In my opinion there is the potential danger that the suit can more easily become fully unanchored if the vehicle is involved a collision. A. this seems like a significant safety defect in that an obvious layer of driver protection has been significantly compromised. I do not feel it's appropriate for numerous individuals to become injured before the manufacturer is required to fix the defect and urge the NHTSA to mandate that the manufacturer correct this problem.
