Nissan driver seat failed. Completely separated from base. Nissan service diagnosed as a failed lift link assembly and would cost around $600 for repair. I paid for the extended in my Nissan Murano and it is not covered by the extended warranty.

2006 Nissan Murano seat falls down and brackets break while driving down the road. I had my Nissan Murano power set fail while driving down the road the bottom section that is connected to the seat rail failed and caused me to go out of control when the seat leaned backwards I jerked on the steering wheel. Very very big problem and I almost ended up in the oncoming traffic.

I have a 2006 Nissan Murano. I was driving down the road, and the driver seat made a snap sound, and suddenly leaned to one side. It took me a few seconds to realize what had happened, and get control of the car. I have checked with Nissan, and they are telling me it is going to cost $1,000 to fix the seat, and that this is a recurring problem with these cars. This seems to be a safety issue to me and a recall has been issued. I have contacted Nissan corporate with this issue as well, and have received no response. I have also done online research, and this seems to be a problem with multiple years of these Muranos.

2006 Nissan Murano broken seat bracket. I have had my car in for a seat clicking several times during 3/36 warranty and was told there is nothing wrong. I have a 2006 Nissan Murano with an extended warranty, several days ago the seat bracket broke when driving on the highway, this was a big surprise, I swerved several times and almost caused a major accident. I took the car to Nissan and they said it was not covered under my warranty, it would cost 800 to fix I contacted their Consumer Affairs and they also don?T care to fix it even though they know it is a design flaw. This is very dangerous and should be an issue that requires a recall because there are many of these cars on the road and many people complaining on web forums. I am now driving a vehicle with a broken seat which is dangerous but I don't have $800 to get it repaired.

Broken frame assembly in driver's seat for 2006 Nissan Murano. Normal wear & tear, no specific event caused this damage. The seat rocks and is a safety hazard. According to the dealership the seat bracket and lift motor assembly need to be replaced. The dealership estimates the repair cost for parts and labor to be $680. This is not a wearable part that is ever supposed to break, and was poorly designed.

The drivers side seat recently started to rocking toward the drivers side door which alerted me to having a problem. The sub rail that hold the seat in broken. This happens every time I get into the car the seat is leaning to the left door. I contacted the dealer in which I purchased the car, they said it is nothing they can do because the warranty is up. Driving along and back left of drivers seat suddenly dropped down about 3-inches causing me to pull the steering wheel to the left into on coming traffic. I suspect a bolt has come loose or more likely from the numerous posts I have found online a weld has broken. This is regarding a 06 Nissan Murano.

I bought a used Nissan Murano 2006 at 42000 miles. Everything was perfect at the beginning, two months later my seat started making very squeaky noise. Until yesterday I kept driving having no idea what is going on. On my way to work my driver seat snapped on the left side. I almost crushed because it happened so suddenly. I am glad that it happened at night and there was no cars around me. Apparently there is many complaints about Nissan defective seat and dealers are charging close to 900$ to fix the problem that should not even occurred ever.

I own a 2006 Nissan Murano with approximately 105,000 miles. I weigh 160 pounds and do 95% of my driving on a highway. While driving on a highway, the frame supporting the driver seat cracked causing the seat to become unstable and creating a hazardous situation. As a result, I have to keep the seat in the lowest possible position, otherwise it becomes highly unstable. The dealer estimated the repairs at $1,035. The result of my research of this defect disclosed that it is a fairly common occurrence for 2006 Nissan Muranos. However, when I contacted Nissan and explained the situation, they responded that there is no recall for this defect and they will not be able to reimburse me for any portion of the repair.

My 06 Nissan Murano is having an issue with the seat moving from side to side around corners and such.... I have found several forums on this and it is obviously a known issue... yet when you go to the dealer, they say tough luck and it is $900 to fix.... that is wrong... this is a known safety issue and should not cost me to have fixed... I am at risk every time my wife or myself drive the vehicle and this is something that should be fixed without charge... imagine how much it will cost if we get in an accident and we sue Nissan for not fixing a known issue.... I am not asking for anything other than having my seat fixed for safety reasons.....

Drivers seat left rear bracket snapped in half, seat now rocks up and down 3 inches and leans right. Emailed Nissan corporate they had me bring it to a dealer who quoted me $1089 to fix, reviewed cost with Nissan corporate and they have heard of the problem occurring with the Murano but can't cover the repair expense, she said "keep the receipt in case we recall it you will get some money back".

While driving, the driver seat suddenly broke loose, startling the driver but thankfully kept the vehicle under control. Upon inspection noticed the rear out side metal bracket is cracked in half at two places. Seat is not secure and unsafe to drive. Apparently there are many known issues with this. Action should be taken to prevent any deaths, not after deaths occur. Common sense should prevail here and recognize there is a design flaw that is a serious threat to drivers, passengers other motorists, and pedestrians.

I heard a snapping sound while driving my 2006 Nissan Murano, and the drivers seat tilted back and to the left. Upon getting out of the vehicle and checking the seat manually, the left backside moved up and down 1-2". I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealer and was quoted $1189.87 to replace the seat adjuster assembly. The part has to be ordered so the repair has not been done yet, but will be when the part comes in, and I will keep the old part when replaced. Updated 09/14/09
