The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would provide inaccurate fuel level readings. The dealer replaced the fuel tank, steering level sensor and the air bag clock spring. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 06V401000 (steering:column locking:anti-theft device) or NHTSA campaign id number: 06V003000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly) did and denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 63,430 and the current mileage was 67,000. Updated 03/16/12 the consumer stated a month after the fuel tank and sensor was fixed, the check engine light illuminated again. The consumer took the vehicle to a repair shop, where she was informed the fuel sending unit sensor was reading an error. Updated 0604/12
