On 3/19/19 I was driving doing about 37 miles as I stop at a red light and then made a left turn. Upon making that turn I heard a loud pop into my left ear and a burning sensation on my left arm and the back of my shoulder. I became dizzy and blurred vision I held my composure and pulled into the nearest gas station I struggled to get the door open I noticed all airbags exploded except the two front passenger and driver bags. I received burns and bruising on my my left arm neck and the side of my face. There was never an accident or damaging impact done to the vehicle for this to happen.

Started the engine about 1 month ago before pulling out of my driveway and the airbag light started blinking and remained on ever since. Took the vehicle to a Nissan dealer to have it checked. Initially they told me nothing was wrong with the airbag so they reset the light and charged a $75 diagnostic fee. But as soon as the technician returned with the vehicle the light came back on again. He took it back to the repair area and after 2 hours he came back and said the airbag computer is malfunctioning and is not able to recognize the vehicle. He stated that it would cost $1500 to replace the air bag computer which my warranty does not cover and I don't believe that this problem should be a customers responsibility as air bags are important safety features which should not just randomly malfunction especially since the vehicle has never been involved in any accidents whatsoever. I asked if there was a recall on the airbag and he said no, I also asked if this is recurrent problem for other consumers with the same vehicle and he responded that he does see this problem quite often with the same vehicle.

This is the third time my airbag light was flashing. The last two times the car was still under warranty I took it to the dealer and it was fixed. I have tried resetting by turning the car "on" and "off" several time and as well as removing the battery. Nothing has worked, I don't think I should have to pay for the dealer to fix it again.

The dealer replaced the fuel tank, steering level sensor and the air bag clock spring. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 06V401000 (steering:column locking:anti-theft device) or NHTSA campaign id number: 06V003000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly) did and denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 63,430 and the current mileage was 67,000. Updated 03/16/12 the consumer stated a month after the fuel tank and sensor was fixed, the check engine light illuminated again. The consumer took the vehicle to a repair shop, where she was informed the fuel sending unit sensor was reading an error. Updated 0604/12

Upon starting the vehicle it was noticed the airbag light was flashing on the console. On 12/8/2010 contacted Nissan dealership, wright automotive - wexford, pa, and service agent advised the earliest they could see the vehicle was12/13/2010 and that the airbag would not deploy while the airbag light was flashing. Upon taking vehicle to dealership service agent advised he has not seen this issue in the 2 years he's been at the dealership and advised there is no recall or known tsb. Service order indicated a code of B1054 which means 'drivers side air bag open'. thus, they recommended 'replace spiral cable' for a total cost of $371.88. I paid $69.95 diagnostic fee, $197 spiral cable, and $18.69 tax and pending payment of $104.93 labor cost to replace part. Upon researching this issue on the web the following was uncovered: Several Murano owners, crossing model years, have experienced the same issue and two suggested solutions. The first solution states to perform a reset by turning the vehicle from 'off' to 'on' three times while counting to 5 during the 'off' time. This solution worked for several owners. The second solution identified by one owner said replacement of the 'seat belt pre tensioner', which was supposedly covered under a recall for a 2005 Murano, solved the identified issue. We choose to perform a self 'reset' on 12/13/2010 which was subsequent to dealership analysis payment of $266.95 (diagnostic fee and special part order). Upon discussing the 'reset' with Nissan service agent, he suggested either return special order part and pay restocking fee or keep the part since he believes the light will begin flashing again. Since performing the 'reset' the flashing airbag light has not returned. Nissan needs to determine if this is a safety concern and issue a recall or if this is not a safety issue then Nissan should document a tsb solution.

: the contact stated after the rearview mirror was checked at 50 mph, the vehicle collided with a dump truck and was dragged by the truck. The contact had no recollection of events after checking the mirror. The contact hit the steering wheel, although the seatbelt was worn. The airbags did not deploy and the contact's sternum fractured. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and a police report was taken. The dealership determined the airbag sensor was not struck and the airbags should not have deployed.
