The sun visor on both sides of Nissan Murano keeps falling and especially while driving. This is a very common issue and Nissan needs to address.

The hinge mechanism that keeps the sun visor in the up position, fails causing the visor to randomly fall while I'm driving. This causes me to be startled & also is a visibility problem. This should be a safety recall! after eventually getting so bad it would not stay up at all & then finding out it would cost $300+ to replace, I'm stuck using a velcro strap attached to drivers side "O-S@&T" bar to keep it up!

The driver side sun visor does not stay up. It keeps falling. I have spoken to Nissan and they said it is not a warranty item. I have searched the Nissan forums and read where one Nissan mechanic, (metro273) said that this is a faulty problem with the sun visor and he has repaired many. To my point this presents a hazard for the driver because if the car is in motion and this thing falls down, the driver has to make a split decision by taking his eyes off the road to remove the obstacle that is blocking his or her view. Nissan should warranty this item and replace it for free.

This is the second time the driver's side visor has suddenly broken and come down to block my view in the middle of driving. I replaced the original for the same problem 3 years ago. Seems the issue was not actually fixed. It now falls down regularly and suddenly blocks my view. I'm told its $400 to fix it again. Why hasn't it been recalled? there is obviously a dangerous problem with these visors.

Hello - I have been reading multiple threads on the Nissan forum, on facebook and elsewhere regarding Nissan Murano sun visors from 2006 and other years that "fail" and flop down.... on the passenger side this is not as much of a safety issue, however, on the driver"S side it is... an unexpected blocked sight vision coupled with traffic will (if it has not already) result in an accident, injury or death to someone....the two visors are not interchangeable. Nissan will fix it (if under warranty) but they are counting on the failure happening after warranty and then charging a hefty price for a driver's side replacement, and/or human ingenuity to allow owners to try fix the problem them selves.... velcro does not work, switching visors leads to the "vanity mirror" door flopping down as well..... we have such an issue with our 2006 Nissan Murano... it should be required for Nissan to recall and repair these on 2006 and other tears which use part # 96401 for a driver's side sun visor before they are faced with a lawsuit... a copy of this complaint is going to my personal attorney.... thank you....

The driver side sun visor does not stay in place. It is either up or down and will flip down on its own during driving creating dangerous driving conditions. Nissan wants approximate $300 for a new part that they should replace.

The driver's side power seat somehow broke under normal wear and tear. The seat leans to the left side and wobbles to the front and back. Therefore having to accelerate, decelerate, turn corners and go over rough road causes the seat to move all over the place. I believe this causes a safety issue while trying to drive. This is a Nissan design flaw that should be on a recall notice and corrected by Nissan free of charge to the consumer. There are numerous complaints regarding this seat and for many, the dealership wants to charge some outrageous price to get the problem corrected. Another issue is the driver's side visor which flops down unexpectedly while driving for no apparent reason. When returned to it's normal place, it will fall down. This causes another safety issue while trying to drive. The visibility is compromised and an accident could very well occur. Please address these design flaws for recalls.

Our Nissan Murano has a driver side sun visor that fails to remain up while driving. It will continually fall down without warning, this is not only a surprise, it blocks our view suddenly. Nissan refuses to replace it even with our extended warranty. We know it is a serious safety issue, we have removed it from the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the driver side sun visor would repeatedly fall from its housing, obscuring the contact's vision of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they replaced the visor under warranty. The failure recurred approximately eight months later. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. The VIN was unavailable. Updated 06/05/12 updated 06/07/12

My driver side sun visor is broken. It flips down on its own all the time while driving. This is the second time filing a complaint form. I never received a response from my first complaint form. I was on the higway again and it fell multiple times almost causing me to get into an accident. I know this isn't just my Murano with this problem. Many people have this same exact problem.

The driver side sun visor is faulty. The first time I put it down it was very tight. The next time I put it down it was like something snapped and now the visor hangs extremely loose. As I am driving, it continuously falls blocking my view of the road. This happens especially while driving on highways. I know this is not due to regular use as I have seem many complaints in different Nissan forums about this very same problem. Are you going to be the next Toyota and wait for someone to crash and die due to a safety issue that you are not recalling?

Sun visor driver side failed to stay up and suddenly falls. The dealer quotes $300 part + 150 labor just to replace and did not guarantee it won't failed again. Of course is not covered by Nissan. How many other brands beside Nissan have you seen with this problem? I am simply appalled by the lack of concern from Nissan. After reading complaints about seat collapsing, wheel bearing going out, visors falling blocking the view of the driver, steering hoses braking causing fire, in vehicles with low mileage I cannot believe Nissan does not identify this as a safety issues and allows the consumer to pay for these faulty components. The fact that Nissan does not stand up behind their products is an insult to everyone who bought this product. Nissan offers no assistance despite the clear premature failure of the components. This is my first and last Nissan vehicle.
