The drivers side sun visor broke and will not stay in the up position. It falls down unexpectingly and causes the view of the driver to be blocked. This has happened on two occassions that almost caused a wreck. Nissan claims this is not covered under the warranty. There have been numerous complaints on the Nissan webiste because they will not recall this item. To replace the sun visor is $350-500.

Nissan want over $350 for one.

When I lock my doors they go down all by themselves. Yesterday they went down the car got soaked inside. I don't feel safe because anybody can reach their hand in and open the doors. Car is 4 years old. Shouldnt be having these major repair problems. So far stress cracked windshield, squealing brakes, now all four windows going down after I lock it. This is a major safety issue what if the doors lock and the windows decide not togo down anymore something is bad wrong with the locking mechanism. I want to know why there hasn't been a recall for this very disturbing failure.below it doesn't give you a choice to explain what is really wrong with the car thank you for letting me explain now.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the sun visor would continuously fall from the latch hooks, obstructing the view of the driver. The dealer made unknown repairs to the visor yet the failure recurred. The dealer advised that repairs would be at the expense of the contact. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 17,000 and the current mileage was 35,000.

I brought my car in for an oil change and when I picked up the car I was told my lift link was broken. I informed the dealer that it was not like that prior to bringing car in. He told me Nissan Murano had a history of this defect. I was never told of this defect. I question why the dealer failed to tell me this upon leasing the 2007 Murano and secondly how it just happened to break during a visit. The technician explained to the consumer that the lift link keeps the seat in a stable position. He then proceeded to show the consumer that the driver's seat was rocking from side to side and could be dangerous in case of an accident. The consumer stated there was nothing wrong with the seat, when the vehicle was dropped off at the dealer. The consumer also stated the driver's side visor would not stay in the upright position. The technician examined the visor and stated it was broken and needed to be replaced. Updated IVOQ 08/12/10

I've read on forums and they have had this issue for quite a few years, and from what I've read they want to rip you off on price for a new one. You lose your total vision of the road when it falls. It falls very often, about every 5 minutes. This is a safety issue and should be a recall.

2007 Nissan Murano drivers sunvisor does not remain in retracted (stowed) position. Sunvisor rotates about pivot rod due to road vibration and completely blocks drivers view. This is extremely dangerous and is exacerbated with night time driving or in bad weather. This appears to be a defect in design of the sunvisor retract cam mechanism. The sunvisor unit cannot be repaired, it must be replaced and is prohibitively expensive. Nissan has been contacted directly and refuses to replace the component. An internet search has revealed many similar failures in multiple model years and 116 reports are on file with NHTSA as of this writing. This should be the subject of a safety recall before someone is killed by these defective sunvisors.
