I was driving home and parking in the driveway when my daughter told me she was tangled in her seat belt. I went to unbuckle my toddler first and by the time I reached my other daughter (seated behind the drivers seat) the seat belt had somehow got more tighter. The more she tried to wriggle the seat belt became tighter. She could not climb out of her seat belt or position it over her head. She started to panic and cry and had to place her hand between the belt and her stomach so that it wouldn't tighten more. It was tighten to the point where it constricted her stomach and breathing. I had no choice but to get kitchen shears and cut her out. It left red marks and bruises on her stomach. Very scary to think if this happened on the highway or somewhere that scissors wasn't accessible. I now keep a pair scissors in my car.
