Murano SL

Our 2009 Murano started making clunking noises in the rear suspension. Also noticed steering wheel off center around same time noise started. I pulled rear wheel to investigate and found crossmember/subframe was rusted out and split. Online complaints of Nissan subframes breaking from rusting out go back as far as 2002 or earlier. So 17 years of problem and I've only seen one recall for 2006/2007 Nissan Altima and Maxima for rusted subframe. Problem still occurring on almost all other models of Nissan. We have 117,000 miles on Murano and is well taken care of. Nissan will not help saying car out of warranty. So then Nissan cars and trucks must only be safe for 5 to 10 years!? We had bought this car 1 owner used 2 years ago and still owe, so were forced to repair at $3,000+.

Beware of Nissan cars and trucks.
