I began hearing a rattling sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. I believed it was possibly the suspension, as the vehicle would also bounce more often than expected when going over any irregularities in the road (potholes, speed bumps, normal wear on roads, etc). I brought it to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, and they found no issues. I had previously replaced all 4 tires and brakes before hearing this sound, and nothing was brought to my attention then, either. The noise continued, and I brought the vehicle to another mechanic, where the damage was found immediately. The frame had corroded to the point where the mechanic advised me to not even drive home, rather have the vehicle towed to the dealership to be assessed and checked for a recall. Multiple incidents similar to mine have been found - all starting after 100k miles - but none have resulted in an official recall notice.

While driving 70+ mph on a federal highway at night, I heard a loud explosion noise followed by glass raining into my vehicle cabin. (The shade was open.) We quickly closed the shade which caused a few more shards of glass to fall into the car. The noise caused by air vibrating the sunroof shade was nearly deafening but we were two hours drive away from home and decided to continue driving praying that no one would toss a cigarette butt or anything similar out of their car where it might land on our now-exposed roof. It wasn-??t until we were able to exit to a gas station that we could see the extent of the damage and take photos.

Dashboard is splitting in 6 places across the entire surface and is very sticky and pliable with a residue leaching out from the material which is wet and shinny. Everything sticks and it puts a glare on the windshield obstructing your vision at times. Vehicle has 105,738 miles and is garaged. My research has found that Nissan is aware of this problem when Nissan Muranos reach 10 years old and have done nothing to correct the problem. Toyota had the same problem and issued a recall to replace the dash.

Just bought 2010 Nissan Murano from individual. After sitting couple days doesn't crank. Starts immediately upon hooking jumper cables. Battery checked out good. What could be the problem?

The driver's side sun visor fails to stay in a desired position. It will typically migrate with bumps in the road, and can move down even when stowed. The sun visor constantly falls down. As you're driving arbitrarily, it will just drop and obstruct your vision.

The 2010 Nissan Murano is dieing in the middle of driving down the road. It has happened on city streets, and highways without warning. It requires a jump to start back up then it will start running again. This is getting more frequent and has been happening since the last couple of months. Replaced the battery already with no improvement.

The dashboard is cracked & falling apart. If you touch it its sticky & pieces start to fall off of it. My friends Toyota Camry was older than mine & they replaced her entire dashboard for free. In addition the numbers on my radio have faded & all around the radio the silver part is peeling. I find it hard to believe that after only 5 years of owing my car things like this started to happen. The dashboard to me is unacceptable.

While driving down the freeway, the sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gunshot causing me to swerve and almost lose control of the truck. I had to swerve so I wouldn't hit the rail. There were no other cars around me. No evidence of a rock, wood, etc. The thing just popped, and the glass fell all over my seat around the kids. It was the middle of the night. The kids were screaming. It was a horrible experience.

Driving to missoula Montana from great falls, I was just leaving Lincoln, Montana was about 6 miles out going around 40 to 45 miles per hour and the front moon roof blew up, sounded like a big huge blast with glass flying everywhere, received a few minor cuts; however, I am still finding glass. I contacted Nissan regarding this matter and have a case #[xxx]. in the process of having this issue fixed by taylor auto max in great falls, Montana. However, a Nissan rep informed taylors that I may be responsible for the diagnostic fee. I feel this is a defect and Nissan should pay for all repairs. I am very lucky an accident didn't happen, as I was traveling on a 2 lane road and not going the speed limit of 70 mph. Just lucky I wasn't a 2015 highway fatality. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

This complaint pertains to the driver side vehicle support post between the front window and driver side window. This post is very thick and obstructive and is a major blind spot. My wife and I really have to almost look around this post to see if there is a car coming. We have on several occasions didn't see a car coming when coming to a stop at a stop sign. I finally had an accident because of this very reason. I was at a 4 way stop and looked to my right and saw a car come to a stop at the sign. I had the right of way so I proceeded and without even seeing this vehicle take off at the same time I did, because of this obtrusive post, I never saw the vehicle until he was right in front of me and I hit him. I always told my wife this was going to cause an accident and even the many times I made sure I looked, if another car takes off at the same time you do, you will not see him because of that thick post and the way it is angled. I have never had a problem with any other vehicle ever seeing a car coming except for this one. It is a bad design and I wonder if others have had accidents because of this post.

Was driving on the highway in a 55 mph zone and as we were driving the car lost acceleration, all dash lights were on as normal. We were lucky to coast off without being hit and we had our 10 months old with us. Had the car towed to local dealer and now 5 days later dealer called to let us know that they diagnosed alternator and battery failure, which is no longer covered.. we were not willing to pay the $1100 that the dealer quoted us so we had the same tow truck driver pick our car back up from the dealer and bring the car to our home. When the tow truck driver was unloading it off flatbed he cranked the car right up. We cranked it multiple times without issue. So we called the dealer again to let them know and they are standing by diagnosis. I feel that this car is a lemon as the head gaskets failed around 25000 miles. Have taken to dealer for burning smell issues multiple time since we bought it in March 2013. I'm also very concerned about the odors especially during pregnancy and driving infant around.

2010 Nissan Murano seat problems. The consumer stated the vehicle did no come equipped with a front passenger lumbar support. To compensate, the consumer had to use a lumbar back support made of foam rubber. The back support fits between his back and the back of the front seat. The consumer stated the air bag system recognized the back support as a child restraint seat and therefore deactivated the front seat air bag and activated the warning light. The dealer informed the consumer the back support was an unauthorized object and was the cause of the air bag deactivation. The dealer refused responsibility and advised the consumer to read the manual. The Nissan manual advised against placing additional objects on the seat.
