Murano

  • Automatic transmission
  • 180,000 miles

They need to have a recall on what transmission they use the 2010 Nissan Murano because the transmission is crap!!! My Murano take to long to switch gears and to long to get up to whatever the speed limit is!!!! I have 7 friends, 6 family members that told me I made a mistake in getting a Murano and now I see why. PUT A RECALL ON THAT DANG TRANSMISSION!!!

Murano SL 3.5L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 85,749 miles

Bought this Murano used in Dec 2014 with ~ 105.000 km.

About 6 months ago felt very slight hesitation when accelerating at slow speeds (about 5-10 km/h). Reported the issue twice to the dealership, but no one could reproduce. Finally, they decided to scan transmission for error codes and found an error. Thankfully, Nissan extended CVT warranty to 10yr/200.000 km. Now the CVT is being replaced under this extended warranty.

Advice: if you're buying Murano used - invest in extended warranty. Other than that and another transfer leak complaint, it's a fine CUV. Drove Lexus RX350 and can tell that Murano isn't any worse being very comfortable, but reliability is definitely an issue unfortunately.

Murano

  • CVT transmission
  • 56,000 miles

Purchased a used 2010 Nissan Muran in April 2013 with 46k miles. Over next 12 months we unemployed for 6 months so car was not driven consistently. In April 2014 it start hesitating during acceleration. Took to local shop thinking it might be clogged spark plug coil but owner said it was transmission and to take to dealership.

To date, Oct 22, 2014 I've returned it 8 times for the same problem. Dealer has put in new TPS Sensor, New Transmission, New Intake Boot, New Fuel Pump and nothing worked. Now they want to change vtc sprockets and charge me $ 2500.00 to "see" if thats the problem. Consumer Affairs department took 4 months to finally agree to pay $ 1000.00 for vtc sprocket but clearly stated if that didn't fix the problem they could not help anymore. Dealership, in Greenville Tx, said if that didn't fix the problem they "were done with my car and don't want it back"...

For a $ 30k car with only 56k miles on it I shouldn't already be putting out $2500 for major car repair. I'll never buy a Nissan again. The car was well taken car of prior to me purchasing it.
