Murano

Safety issue! my Murano driver side visor will not stay up and is very dangerous.my car is only 9 years old and I looked online and this is a known issue for several years for Nissan, even for 3 year old cars and could cause a serious accident when it falls covering the drivers vision both front and rear view mirror! this car and item should be recalled. Owners should not have to pay for their own safety for an issue like this.

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Murano. While driving 70 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise and noticed that the sun roof was shattered. There were no injuries. The dealer (kelly Nissan, 610-258-8600) was called and stated that nothing could be done. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Driver's side sun visor does not remain in the up position droops down when driving over small bumps, impairing driver visibility. This happens when driving but is getting worse and soon I anticipate the visor will not stay in the up position when the vehicle is stationary.

Murano 6-cyl

We were driving at 35 miles/hr with 3 years old daughter in the car seat in the back. Suddenly the roof just exploded. We had the inside cover of the sunroof open and the debris from the roof explosion flew in our daughter face. Fortunately, beside minor scratches on her face and crying when we put her back to the car, she is ok. She now resist us when we try to put her in this car. This is absolutely a quality issue from Nissan. We agree with Nissan that we never heard about roof exploding before, but we as many other have witnessed one from car made by Nissan.

I parked the Murano in the garage and closed the garage door then went inside the house. About 30 minutes later I heard a muffled boom sound. I thought the wind was blowing furniture around on my deck. I went to check the garage and noticed tempered glass on the floor. I looked at the lift gate door and noticed the entire glass window had shattered inward. Most of the glass was inside the car. I don't know how it happened but it was raining that day and the temperature had fallen.
