sunroof exploded sunroof exploded

We were just driving down the road and thought we were shot at. Honestly we had no idea what happened - the window just make a crashing sound and then there was breaking glass.

sunroof exploded

This should of been addressed years ago. If this tempered glass is failing, why wasn't it recalled? Instead, while driving 65 MPH, this window exploded, about drove off the road, thought a tire had blew!! Scared the living daylights out of me!! Good thing the window was closed and there is a covering, I would of been blasted by the glass!!

Update from Oct 19, 2019: Sunroof fixed by my insurance.....thank goodness no deductible. Taking to car wash today to see if it leaks.

sunroof exploded

Driving on the 202 West freeway on the Diamond Lane with no other vehicles close to my car when it sounded like a gun shot right into the car that was extremely loud and scared the hell out of me, may wife and son. went over to the side of the freeway to see what had happened. we were totally surprised when we saw that the sunroof had exploded an there was a giant hole in the sunroof. I had to drive very slowly because the noise from the broken sunroof was extremely loud.

Next day Monday called Nissan and also had the car toed into AutoNation Nissan Tempe Az. I called on Wednesday to find out when the sunroof would be repaired and I could get my 2011 Murano back. The service supervisor was very rude and told me they were not going to repair it that I needed to bring it to a Glass repair shop after they had the car for two days.

Nissan called me Thursday late after noon and was very rude and would not give any information but asked me question and then hung up on me.

Nissan dealer and Nissan company are the worst people I have every had to deal with when the fault of the problem was completely theirs. The sunroof was completely closed and in all the years I had the car I think I might have open the sunroof a couple of times.

sunroof exploded

We were driving on the Santan freeway at about 3 pm Sunday afternoon when a tremendoous noise scared the hell out of us. I thought someone shot a gun at us. It was so loud. There was very little traffic so no vehicle in front or behind us on the diamond lane so there was no possibliity of a stone hitting the car. Pulled over and saw the broken sunroof. Driving home the noise from the broken sunroof was very loud so had to drive very slow. Next day had my 2011 Nissan Murano Suv toed into the Tempe Nissan dealer.

They said it was my responsibilty to pay for repairs. I see many complaints on line with sunroofs from Nissan exploding. They gave me a loaner car to drive home but only for one day free but after i must pay for the loaner.and it would take many days to repair the sunroof. Still waiting to hear from Nissan home office on my complaint.
