Murano LS 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,069 miles

I bought this car in 2016 and I started to take it to the car wash like I always did with all my cars and it started peeling. I kept touching it up with touch paint from a business that makes the touchup paints that didn’t work And just kept going on and on and now it’s gotten to a point where it’s worse. I paid $35,000 for this car and all it’s been doing is peeling. I went to the dealer the other day spoke with them and they told me to talk to somebody at the other dealership or to go online and this is what I got for results.

I’m very upset, this car is beautifully taken care of. I gave it to my wife. I’m ready to buy another one and now it’s gonna cost me a couple grand to fix a problem that I have never had in any cars I’ve ever bought and that is very sad because I’m gonna lose money and I don’t think it’s right. There anyway or any lawsuit that I can get involved with I would love to be in it because it’s not fair to the consumer that you have to pay for somebody else’s mishaps this is never been an accident. It’s in mint condition and it’s kind of sad that I have to see this every day. So anybody out there that knows about this lawsuit it doesn’t go back to 2017 goes further and I think it’s not fair that nothing is being done about it.

Again, if there is a lawsuit out there, I think my vehicle should be in that lawsuit this paint that’s on this car is not cheap. It’s gonna cost me a couple grand just for that little bit of area and that’s ridiculous. The color of my paint is purple white , and this is a platinum vehicle. It’s high inside fully loaded and I can’t believe this is happening.

My car is Pearl White. Paint started bubbling and popping off the hood and the front quarter panel around 65,000 miles. Started off as very small spots and continue to get larger. Contacted Nissan said they can not do anything since the car is out of warranty. Which I knew it was out of warranty but I feel like this is a manufacturer defect. There has been a recall on the 2013 Rouge with the pearl white paint. Stands to reason that the Murano might have the same problem. But Customer service informed me that they would have no idea and that would be a paint department issue and that department does not have a customer service department. So pretty much tuff s**t.

About a month ago the paint started to bubble on the driver side of my 2014 Nissan Murano. Then it begin to peel in 2 places. I took it to the Nissan dealership where I bought it and the service manager told me it looked like a factory defective paint. He said that it was not under warranty anymore with the dealership but to call consumer affairs at Nissan corporate and they would open a claim. I did that and was told to take it to the dealership's body shop and have an estimate sent to them. Once that was done I received a call from Nissan consumer affairs that this was not covered since my Nissan was no longer under warranty.

5 years old and the paint is already breaking down..... unreal. I have a 2008 Nissan Altima that is also Pearl White and the paint is still good on it.

So in the future the best advice would be not to buy a NISSAN they do not stand behind their vehicles.

I had an issue at 5 days old of owning a new car had it fixed and noticed them a few chips and they fixed it. It then went to a dealership for additional problems- none of Nissan's doing but they were to fix it. When I finally got my car back 2 months later it came back with all these chips on the doors, front sides... They claim mot their fault or issue. Since then the chips become more. I do not tailgate... I keep car distances between me an others... if there is a chance dirty or stones are kicked up I do not want another window replacement. Now there are chips even on the back side of it. I swear there is a paint defect in this years model. I have looked at other models of the same year and they have the same chips. So it is not just the color but because of the color I notice it...
