Pathfinder EX-V6 3.0L

  • Manual transmission

I was upset because it affected the engine causing the car to shake. First it started to shake on first gear(Standard). After - about half a mile the same happened when shifting to second gear. The shaking was getting worse for every 100 yards I am driving. Then the same happen when shifting to 3rd gear. I felt like the engine is falling appart and brought it to a local shop.

BUT when they ran the car there was no problem - light is off - no shaking. Possible problen CROSS fire between the sparkplug wires. They replaced Distributer - Wires Spark plug - Oil and - more!!! - costing $307. I thought problem was fixed. Abvout a month later the SAME problem stated [ This info on NEXT Complaint ]

I had a doctors appointment. The car I usually drive needed some fixing and was in the shop. The day before the doc's appointment I took the Nissan for a drive.. The light went ON immediately. It scared the sh*t out of me. NOT THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN!!! WHAT IF I GOT STUCK ON THE ROAD TO THE DOCTOR???? So next day I went to the doctor drove as slow as was possible and got there safely. After returning from the doctor's office - IO started the truck - - AND LO and BEHOLD - - the engine light was OFF and the truck drove perfectly.!!! I still did not know what was wrong with it. I MUST MENTION A PROBLEM I HAD WITH THE TRUCK ABOUT 10-15 YEARS AGO!! The engine light was ON - and the car shook as if it will fall apart. I opened the hood and discover that the sparkplug - all around it was soaking with oil!!. Took to a shop (Veldman in TRialto) and the manager was going to diagnose the problem for $85 . I told him - that it was kind of expensive [ this was in about 1995-1997} His response was : "yes but we will fix the problem" I came back the next day and claimed that it was the computer that was bad and that it will cost me $700 [ Imagine that !! - 10-15 years ago] He was out of his mind, So I decided to take it to another shop - as the car was rattling and shaking!! The mechanic changed all the sparkplugs and the wires and filled oil and whatever he did for the cost of $124!!! What a relieve. IMPORTANT NOTE: The mechanic told me that there was a recall on that model and told me that there was a grounding problem. I asked him to fix it at the cost $14 for the grounding cable. The Nissan truck ran like a champ for many years until last Jan 2012. When I came home from the doctor - one thought was - could there be a problem with the grounding. I checked the ground connection of the "installed' cable and the ground looks NOT TOO BAD. But what I did was I added an additional connection for a BETTER ground. STILL AS I AM WRITING THIS EXPERIENCE - I AM STILL NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. YES - COULD IT BE A FAULTY COMPUTER??? THE MECHANIC MENTIONED THE COIL - THAT MIGHT BE A PROBLEM!! i AM WAITING FOR THE NEXT OCCURRENCE AND THAN CHANGE THE COIL!!
