Bought my 2004 Pathfinder 3.5L vq35de, automatic, 4x4, Canadian chinook edition. By far the worst vehicle Ive ever owned, read tons of reviews before purchasing it. My head gasket is blown at 108000 kilometres. after numerous overheating issues (due to the previous owner putting stop leak in, my radiator was clogged), the head gasket started to leak externally between the head and block. No sign of oil in coolant or vise-versa, and used exhaust gas tester. Seen coolant dripping from the a/c condenser on to the power steering rack. Got my local Nissan dealership to diagnose it and used a borescope to find the leak. Engine runs like brand new, probably wouldn't have even noticed the leak if I wasn't anal about my vehicles. But now I'm going to be price out the replacement this week. Never buying another Nissan after this. I thought the the vq35de was (as one site put it) reliable as a hammer.
