Had faulty oil psi indications twice prior. The fix only lasted 10,000 miles each time. The sensor was replaced each time. For the third time now, the gauge is reading off scale high. The gauge needs replacing. This requires replacing the entire set of instruments costing well over $800. The whole dash needs to come out to do this replacement. Sounds like I'm not the only one having this problem. In contact with Nissan on a national level trying to get them to repair this for free and warranty the fix for the remaining time I own the vehicle.

Noticed the oil pressure gauge was pegged at high. Since I just purchased the car when I noticed it, I called the dealer that I purchased the car from. They said they did not see that problem when the car was on their lot and it must have occurred since I purchased the car, hence, my problem. Had the oil changed thinking that may help, did not resolve. about a month and a half later the transmission failed in the car and I was told that a computer reset may fix it. Did not. I have not had this fixed yet as I have only driven the car about 4000 miles in the last year. While it is not terribly annoying, it does make you wonder if there are additional problems besides the oil pressure sensor.

I was on the highway with my family driving on what would have been a 2 hour trip and I noticed the oil pressure gauge was pegged HIGH. I pulled over and shut down everything. I checked the oil level and it was fine, no smoke, no leaks. I didn't take a chance, so we canceled the trip and went home. After researching the issue, it is the oil pressure sensor. Its on the bottom of the engine, passengers side by the oil pan. Be sure to get the right one, should be about $56 online and it is easy to do. I ordered the wrong one and just have messed with it yet.
