Pathfinder LE 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 162,000 miles

Took my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder to be looked at and they were not sure what it will cost because they may have to paint more than just that area to get a blend. I have already had to replace transmission because my vehicle was out of warranty.

I loved Nissan but, I will not buy another I do not believe because they do not hold their selves accountable for their problems. The body shop said Nissan should make it good because he can see that whatever is under the paint is original and they had a paint defect.

Shame on Nissan for not trying to keep their customers pleased.

Pathfinder LE 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,000 miles

I PURCHASED MY PATHFINDER USED ON APRIL 9 2011. NOT LONG AFTER IF PURCHASED THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT WAS CHIPPING AROUND THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD FRAMING AS WELL AS ALONG THE LIP OF THE ROOF LINE. IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS.

I HAVE MADE IT A POINT TO LOOK AT OTHER PATHFINDERS TO SEE IF THEY SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AND GUESS WHAT, THEY DO!!!!! ALL OF THE VEHICLES I SEE AFFECTED ARE WHITE. I HAVE GOTTEN AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM & APPARENTLY THE PAINT WILL HAVE TO GRIND DOWN TO THE METAL. THE BODY SHOPS OPINION IS THAT NISSAN DID NOT APPLY A PROPER PRIMER.

THE ESTIMATE WAS $2000!!!! REALLY NISSAN, YOU CAN SEE THIS IS AN ISSUE!!! DO YOU THINK YOU SHOULDN'T BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING IT RIGHT BECAUSE NO ONE HAS LOST A LIFE, WELL THINK AGAIN. I PAID $18,000 FOR THIS VEHICLE & WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT NISSAN PRODUCES A BETTER PRODUCT THAN THIS, OR AT LEAST STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT 100%, IRREGARDLESS OF THE PROBLEM.

My vehicle paint is chipping all off the windshield rails and several other spots on vehicle. I know I'm not the only one with this problem and if Nissan wants returning customers you would think they would fix the problem. I refuse to buy another Nissan.

Pathfinder

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

I contacted Nissan and they said it was normal wear and that they have not received enough complaints to warrant a recall. This will be the last Nissan anyone within an ear shot of me will purchase. Every dealer said it was a defect, however Nissan never stands behind their paint.

Pathfinder SE 79,914

  • Automatic transmission

This is an obvious defect, the way the paint has just completely chipped away from the post that run from the windshield, to the roof. The are completely exposed, bear metal. This has not happened anywhere else on the vehicle.
