problem #1

Early November, 2009 I heard a ticking sound coming from the front end of car. Took to Infiniti dealer (no Pathfinder dealer in our area); they diagnosed the problem. Nobody I've talked to or research on the internet has turned up this problem. This tyoe of failure should not happen in a car with so few mile - which has never been in an accident. Seems like a manufacturer defect to me.

Update from May 22, 2015: In the fall of 2009 the front end differential failed causing repair costs over $2,000. In December, 2010 we had to have the timing chain replaced, at a cost of $1,500. The timing chain is a know defect by Nissan as described in Technical Bulletin #NTB07-042. Unfortunately, all of these items happened out of warranty. Additionally, parts issues including roof rack, running panels and interior surface degradation have taken place.

My opinion is that this vehicle, which received regular maintenance and was driven under normal conditions, should not have needed these repairs and should have been part of a recall.
