After about 62,000 miles my Pathfinder would constantly "whine" during acceleration. Over time the problem becomes worse and the whining is continuous. I took the vehicle into the dealership and they knew right away what the problem was. There is a consistent problem with the timing chain (these should never go bad) that they had replaced on many vehicles. In fact, this issue is so prominent that Nissan should be recalling or extending warranty on this item as well.
There is a Technical Service Bulletin (#07042) that addresses the issue for the dealerships. After asking Nissan Corporate to cover the repairs, they refused. Our service adviser agreed that Nissan should be fixing it and he expects a future recall or warranty extension. However, Nissan has done nothing as of the writing of this complaint.
As I get closer to 80k miles, I live in fear that the tranny will go out w/radiator fluid problem post warranty coverage. After 4 previous Nissans, I will not buy another Nissan (or Infiniti) vehicle again. Customer loyalty means nothing to them and they are putting people in dangerous and costly situations by not standing behind their product.

Done, nothing else to say. Never another Nissan. Worst customer service. Customer is never right with these people.

Out of nowhere, truck started this annoying Rumbling noise at 20-60 Mph - As if I am going through "rumble strips" - I told the mechanic exactly that at NISSAN dealer. Replaced rear brakes at $500. Problem was still there. Mechanics struggled to duplicate problem but luckily, one of them duplicated it in the garage. Will be replacing Transmission and Radiator. Luckily I have extended warranty and the recall letter for leaking radiator - In-fact I asked them to check it before I knew how many people are experiencing this issue. Best forum ever... keep the steam up. I am disappointed.5 year old truck with new transmission? How do you sell that & the possibility of experiencing the same problem later.

I can only wait to get home and check my transmission fluid to see coolant, or my coolant to see transmission fluid.
I will NEVER own another Nissan. Besides this, my local dealer wants $700 to fix the gas tank sending unit. What a piece of crap.

I have had this car for approx. 5 years. At a speed of 40-45 miles per hour, the car started shuttering. My mechanic said he would flush the transmission with Nissan fluid and hopefully would not have to replace the transmission. A week later the skipping and shuttering has gotten worse and I am not facing having to rebuild the transmission at a tune of $2500 which is more than the car is worth. I understand there was a class action suit against Nissan for the transmissions. Is there any help I can get out there as to getting my car fixed and NOT out of my pocket?
Thanks!
