I had a serious transmission problem with my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. It was caused by radiator coolant leaking into the transmission. The dealer replaced the transmission at no cost. They did this because Nissan had previously settled a class action lawsuit brought against it by agreeing to do this.
When I went to use my heater for the first time this winter only cold air came out. This was about two months after I had the transmission replaced. My local mechanic determined that the coils that heat up the air were completely gummed up by transmission fluid.
The dealer should have completely flushed the cooling system after replacing the transmission. If they didn't want to do this because it wasn't covered as part of the class action settlement, they should have at least told me that it needed to be done.

The rear heat controls do not work and even when the rear heat is controlled from the front cabin, the vents do not blow warm air even when car is up to cruising speed. the heater in the front cabin does not blow warm air until car is warm and cruising speed is reached. This does not seem to affect the rear heating system of the car as it doesn't work regardless. When car gets up to cruising speed the heater will blow warm air but as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator and begin to slow down, the temperature of the air blowing also gets colder until finally it is bone chilling while idling. When speed is increased again so does the heat. Ridiculous. I will not buy another Nissan.

The heater blows cold air when idling and starts working a little when the car is at cruising speed. So many problems went wrong with my vehicle about the same time that its sad Nissan can't get a grip and fix the issues once they are aware of them. Very frustrating.

My husband and I purchased our "07" Nissan Pathfinder in May 2007. We were driving and got stuck in traffic in a tunnel. The vehicle was idling for 15-20 minutes. Within a couple of minutes the AC stopped blowing cool air. Needless to say I was terrible. Because we were in a tunnel I couldn't put down the windows. With all the fumes we would have been sick (my kids, husband and I). I took it in to the dealership and they said it was low on coolant. I didn't have the problem the rest of that summer. Then towards the end of the summer last year (2011) it started happening again. It then cooled down and I never took it in. Well then this winter it was doing the same thing with heat. I could not start my SUV to warm up and melt the frost and snow. I had to scrape it off and actually drive the vehicle in order for the heat to come out warm. I take it in tomorrow morning to see what they say about it. By reading what everyone is saying about their Pathfinder I'm extremely nervous. I bought this vehicle brand new. I stuck with a Nissan Pathfinder. My first one was a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder. I loved it! I put 110,000 miles on it and it still ran like a champ. We just out grew it/wanted the third row. We will see how tomorrow goes. ...

About a week ago my check engine light came on. I brought it into the Nissan dealership. This is what my bill says:
Tech scanned code P0031 A/f Sen1 HTR malfunction Needs new sensor. Tech replaced sensor to correct. 1 22693-ZEOOA SENSOR.
I had noticed this winter that my heater would only blow cold air -or cooler air at an idle. If I revved the RPMs up to 2-3 then hot air would come out. I am thinking this is the fix needed. I just had the sensor replaced yesterday- but drove my car on a 240 mile round trip right after- while at my destination, I did notice the heater was working better. I am not sure if this is the fix for cold air coming out at an idle. But I am thinking so. Will update soon after using the car more to let you know if this fixed the problem.

Heater doesn't work when vehicle is idling. Does fine when driving though. I took my pathfinder to the dealership 3 different times in Jan. 2013. Basically, I paid over $300 for it NOT to be fixed. First, they put in a new thermostat and replaced a radiator hose -- didn't fix it. Then they replaced the heater control valve (and put in a new battery) -- didn't fix it. Finally, after having it for 14 days, they decided it probably had a damaged head gasket and needed a new timing chain......the cost would be $3500! I am not convinced that the dealership service dept./mechanic is positive that these expensive repairs would fix my heater problems. Therefore, I did not get the repairs. Probably my first and last Nissan purchase....oh, and did I mention there is a class-action lawsuit in effect concerning the coolant/transmission fluid??? Hopefully, I can trade it in before I have any of those issues.

I brought the nissan pathfinder last year (july 2010); when the winter month started I notice the heater did not work while I was just parked waiting for my son to get out of school. I have only had the vehicle a year, and have had so many issues with it.

Heater only works when giving the vehicle gas. I have owned Nissans for over 20 years and after experiencing all the problems I've had with this Pathfinder it will be my last.

radiator fluid very thick like white creamy texture
three days ago i notice that there was no heat in my 2007 pathfinder. thought it might be the thermostat did not know what to look for, so check the radiator found that that texture of the fluid was so thick white and soupy. i called the Nissan Warranty because of the repair call back but guest what i was told that my 2007 pathfinder was not in the type. So i'm thinking same model make same year and the same problem it has all the specifics to be repaired by Nissan. i was finally told by another associate to take it to the dealer for them to do a diagnostic to see if i qualify next Tuesday Nov 8 2016 which will cost how much i do not know, then they will take it to the board to see if i qualify.PS just got a email from Nissan to call for a quote on a new car, they send me email so s often saying this new car just came but none to tell me about the problem that might be happening with the one i have now, CANTRUSTHEM
