problem #1

Dec 232012

Pathfinder LE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,500 miles

I have owned several new suv's since 1994 including a 1994 Ford Explorer, 1999 Isuzu Trooper, 2006 Honda Pilot, and currently the 2009 Nissan Pathfinder(blue). I have always maintained my vehicles by washing them both by hand, and in the colder weather at a car wash. I have never ever seen paint peel off on any of my other vehicles for absolutely no apparent reason. I have read that Nissan has had similar problems with the paint peeling on the 05 Pathfinder. In 2012 my vehicle had maybe 38,000 at best when the lease was up. I purchased the vehicle off the lease from the same dealer that I leased it from Atlantic Nissan in West Islip NY. At that time, I was told I was now purchasing a certified pre-owned Nissan vehicle, and I also purchased an extended warranty. I now have paint peeling on the rain rail of the drivers side as well as the drivers side front fender (which happened today after going through the car wash). From everything I have read so far it doesn't sound like Nissan is going to do anything for me. So far I have notified Nissan online of the problem, and I plan on going to the dealership to show them the problem. When I have there answer as far as what they will or won't do for me, I will post it for everyone else. If anyone else has a similar problem with the paint on the 2009 Pathfinder please post it. It can't hurt!!
