problem #1

Jul 202018

Pathfinder LE 4 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 144,000 miles

I BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED - ALREADY OVER 100,000 MIL A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. I WAS TOLD THAT NISSANS ARE GOOD RELIABLE CARS AND SHOULD LAST OVER 200,000 MIL. I ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE 3 MOS AND WAS TOLD ABOUT THE RADIATOR PROBLEM BY THE DEALER AND THIS COST ME $700 AND NOW IT IS THE AIR BAG - LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER THINKING IT NEEDED TO BE RESET, HOWEVER WAS TOLD THE HOLD MODULE (OR MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH) NEEDED REPLACING. THIS IS A $820 COST. I ASSUMED THAT SINCE THIS IS AN AIR BAG PROBLEM AND AND THE PART MUST BE UNDER WARRANTY. I LOOKED UP THE ISSUES ON LINE AND SAW THAT THIS PART WAS ON RECALL. I CALLED NISSAN (UNITED STATES) AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART FOR THE PARTICULAR MODEL PATHFINDER I BOUGHT WAS NOT ON RECALL AND THAT THEY WERE NOT LIABLE TO HELP FIX THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MIL. NEEDLESS TO STAY, I AM SHOCKED AND DISAPPOINTED THAT NISSAN WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT THEY BUILT. I ONLY NOW SEE THE TRUE QUALITY OF THEIR VEHICLES. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER AND I SUGGEST NO ONE ELSE BUY ONE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR LESS THEN TWO YEARS AND NOW HAVE TO HAVE MAJOR WORK COMPLETED. THIS ALONE WITH THE PAYMENT ON THE VEHICLE HAS SET ME BACK FINANCIALLY. DON'T BUY NISSAN! ESPECIALLY DON'T BUY A USED ONE.
