Three times our battery has ruptured. Two separate batteries, the second and third being a Nissan dealership battery because I thought maybe the aftermarket battery was the cause. I have purchased four batteries over the two years I have owned the pathfinder. The first battery that came with the car I did not see the battery condition as the car was towed in after it lost power while driving up hill. They assumed alternator however concluded it was the battery. When looking at the new battery the dealership installed I noticed corrosion from the splash of battery acid all over the engine bay. It wasn-??t until I was in the car when the new battery once again ruptured, separating the whole top and bottom casing. That left acid dripping in my engine bay. So battery number three I made sure was an OEM Nissan battery that could handle the Platnium OEM options. Just months replacement the battery ruptured again. This time the dealer covered replacement. Well I brought my pathfinder in for its 60k mile service and sure enough the battery acid has caused the area around terminals to separate and have huge amounts of corrosion. The advisor even mentioned how the battery looks brand new and shiny except for all the corrosion. They got the battery holding a charge but can-??t pinpoint the issue. I can not find a lot of info on batteries rupturing like this without being attached to an external power source - Like it someone is over applying voltage to the battery. That was not the case I have been actively driving when it pressurized the battery causing the rupture and spewing battery acid throughout the engine bay.

Shifter will not move from park. I have to use the hidden bypass push button just above park indicator to move vehicle in & out of gear. I bought this vehicle with about 141,000 miles. I noticed the under carriage was wet at time i bought it on september 16th 2021. Very slow leak. Had mechanic test transmission fluid temp and add Nissan cvt fluid. Didnt need much. Both rear interior doors have boken handles. Cables broke free of internal handle. Transmission starting to hesitate or lose power on mostly heavy acceleration. Acceleration pause for moment. Sometimes a few times within 5-7 seconds when attempt to excelerate at full throttle when heavy acceleration. Getting worse. Happening at slower speeds. Hood shakes on highway. Needs reinforced. So far caused no accidents.

The Pathfinder was recalled due to transmission problems. When I heard about the settlement had been settled. So I called the company directly and found out that the Pathfinder had not ever been changed from the previous owner. So no one wanted to help me. So we had taken the Pathfinder in before I knew of the recall due to transmission leaking. Had purchased extended warranty they refused to repair the transmission. So last month I had to come up with money to have a transmission put in. Because it was stuck in park and drive. No take in consideration I had contacted Nissan directly and they refused to do anything and knew this year had just settled a civil lawsuit. So I need help with being reimbursed by Nissan. There was as if, it was stuck in low gear, high pitch sound when started, hesitated when leaving a stop light, difficult time picking up speed, constantly leaking transmission liquid, high pitch noice when was put in reverse and jerking as when it was on the high way trying to shift gears. Had a particular smell at times. Even called cvt about the problem. Everyone refused to replace the transmission. Was unable to attach the second page of the document. I can provide documentation when we first took in the Pathfinder with this problem.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per NHTSA campaign numbers: 16V244000, 13V069000 and 15V681000 (air bags) and 14V138000 (electrical system, air bags) at Nissan of huntington (850 E jericho turnpike, huntington station, NY 11746, (631) 533-4888). The dealer reprogrammed the air bag module control unit, but did not replace the sensors. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer six times for the same failure, which was never performed satisfactorily. The contact had to pay to repair both the sensor and module. The contact stated that the vehicle was in the process of being repaired again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 37582283. The failure mileage was unknown.

My gear shift no longer works and I have been putting a screwdriver in to manually override it for over a year. Yesterday, I put the car in reverse and the brake wouldn't engage. I took my foot off and put it back on the brake and again the car continued to roll. I put it in park and restarted and it worked fine. I have read this may have to do with a brake light switch and this is also related to the shifting problem, but Nissan says there is no recall. I was putting up with the gear shift as I didn't think it was a safety risk but I definitely could have had an accident backing out of the parking space yesterday.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced several failures since March of 2017. The contact stated that the rear brake light failed to illuminate properly when the brakes were applied, the vehicle vibrated and shook violently on several occasions, the passenger side air bag occupant detection indicator failed to illuminate. Furthermore, the contact reported that the increased stopping distance related sensor and the ABS wheel sensor failed. In addition, the contact expressed concern that the power windows independently rolled up and down, the back-up camera disabled and rotated in the reverse position, and the key fob sensor intermittently failed to perform as intended. An independent mechanic replaced the throttle body position sensor, but the failure recurred. Baytown Nissan (5445 I-10, baytown, Texas 77521, (281) 394-1995) was made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and provided case number: 33384799. In addition, the manufacturer stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The failure mileage was 68,000.

I bought a brand new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder in March of 2013. Within 6 months I noticed there was jerking with the transmission. I took it back to preston Nissan in Maryland and was told they had received a bulletin and the transmission needed to be reprogrammed. They reprogrammed the transmission and it helped a little but a few months later it was doing the same thing. I took it back to preston Nissan. There I was told that they could not duplicate the problem and that they would reprogram it again. It did not help. I could not afford to keep taking it back, because they charge me every time to keep telling me there was nothing wrong. My car began to not accelerate when I was making a turn or when I was accelerating in traffic. We took it back to preston and we were told that they had put a device in to monitor the transmission as well as reprogrammed it again. My car continued to judder and shake and fail to accelerate. There was a class action lawsuit filed and Nissan extended the warranties to 84,000 miles. My car is now at 87,000 and a Nissan dealership in Michigan is now stating that it needs a new transmission and a cooling fan. Nissan corporate office is now telling me that they will pay 90% of the fan and only 50% of the transmission. I bought the extended warranty when I purchased the car. The transmission is not the only thing wrong with this car. It has been one thing after the other. Door lock motor, visor, hood release, trunk latch, brake lights remain on when car is off, airbag indicator...the list goes on and on.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. When the contact started the vehicle by using the remote start feature, the vehicle doors automatically locked while idling. The contact stated that the failure occurred during extreme heat. During the failure, a child occupant was secured in the vehicle and the contact was unable to unlock the vehicle. The fire department was contacted and was able to manually wedge the door open. The contact discovered that 60 seconds after the remote start was initiated, the vehicle locked itself as a security measure. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 65,401.

While driving on September 219th, 2016, the airbag indicator light started flashing for under a minute, and then the entire dashboard cluster panel went out. The tachometer, speedometer, gas gauge, driver safety information, lighting and breaks, gear mode, seat belt indicator, engine temperature gauge all went blank as the car was driving straight down a street approximately 45 miles an hour. I pulled the car off of the road to a safe place. Shut it down, and started it again normally. The entire instrument panel has yet to come back on. I was able to get the SUV home, and called some local dealerships to get it in to service. While waiting for a call back, I was able to research, and found that the vehicle is under two recalls, 16V-244 for occs system, and 16V-380 for stop lamp switch.. I was able to get the car to royal Nissan in baton rouge, Louisiana (225) 924-0400 on the 20th of September, 2016. I informed them of the recalls, and they said that they would look into the mater. On the September 21th, service advisor (kenney) called me and said that they did not yet know how to fix the problem, but the car was three years old, and out of warranty and I would have to pay for the repairs myself because they were probably not related to the recalls. That is where it stands.as of September 21st, 2016. I do not think that I am being unreasonable when I think that there is a connection to the flashing indicator lights, and the dashboard going out at the same time.

I am driving my 2013 Pathfinder and from time to time, on the highway or local roads, even at take off I press the accelerator and nothing happens. The revs do not rise, the truck does not accelerate. I can put the accelerator to the floor and still nothing. It happens roughly once every time I drive it. I let go the accelerator and press it again and it is back to normal. The truck is warm every time it happens, so I cant say it is because I am driving the engine cold.
