While driving I noticed the front alignment was all of a sudden off. When parked I checked around the vehicle and found the driver side rear wheel to be kicked out at an angle. I checked the rear under carriage and found the nearly the whole rear subframe and crossmember to be rusted out. The bushing that held the control arm to the subframe came off in my hand. For a vehicle with only 80k and always garaged I was surprised at the extent of the rust. Had the full subframe failed at highway speed it could have been a lot worse. The rear wheel assembly was only connected to the car by the spring and control arm. After some online research I have found many other examples of similar failures with the rear subframe on this generation of Nissan Pathfinders. No recall exists for this failure. $4700 repair bill.

On December 5, 2022, I was driving on the 134W fwy around 6:40 am. I was driving around 60 mph in the fast lane when all of a sudden my hood popped open. I was unable to see in front of my car as the hood was completely up and blocking my windshield. I slowed down and crouched down to see in the sliver of space between the windshield and the top (now located at the bottom due to it being open) of the hood. There was no left shoulder so my only recourse was to make my way to an exit as the section of the fwy I was on was around a merge of another fwy onto the one that I was currently on and there was no safe place to pull my car over to close the hood and unblock my view. Since it was early in the morning, the traffic was light but if there had been more traffic, then I would have slammed into a car in front of me and or someone would have slammed into me as I slowed down due to the surprise of the hood popping open, unexpectedly, and blocking my view. I called my insurance and sent video and pictures and they said to take it to the dealership. They also stated that because of a recall, the dealer should be fixing this hood latch issue. There was no warning to the hood latch failure as I've been driving this car for 8 years and this just happened unexpectedly. The local dealership of this car manufacturer said they oiled and cleaned the latch when we took it in to fix, as per our insurance's advice, but this car is not safe to drive as we are unsure when and if the hood will pop open again. When we called the Nissan Consumer Affairs department, the person my husband spoke to stated that we were never notified of this recall.

While my wife was driving down the street, about 25 mph, the hood suddenly popped open, hitting the windshield, and twisting and tearing the metal on both fender panels. It was terrifying. What if it had happened on the highway?

My 2014 Pathfinder has had all 4 door handles break just randomly causing us to be stuck in the vehicle without being able to get out unless we roll down the windows. Nissan fixed the passenger front door but would not fix the 2 back one's. Then the other day with temperatures inside the car in the 90s both front doors broke and the car would not start for us to get the windows down. We were locked in the car for almost 15 minutes before someone saw us and came over and let us out. We could of all died inside from the heat and had absolutely no way to get out of the vehicle. I took it to 3 mechanics but they all say Nissan is the only one with the part to remove the door panels to fix it. Nissan knows they are broken and wants to charge over $1,000 to fix them. There was no notice no warning just as you try to open the door the handle snaps and just sticks out and cannot open. I have been reading up on complaints and this is very dangerous the amount out there on this same issue. It appears Nissan is very aware of it and does nothing, people can die if they cannot get out of a car during an accident or high temperatures. It is available for inspection.

The passenger side tailgate strut failed. When the tailgate was open, the point where the struct connects to the lower bracket snapped, causing the tailgate to fall on, and injur the person below. I see that there is a recall on Nissan Rouges for "rusting tailgate struts" that seems to be the same problem, but none issued for Pathfinders. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealer for this issue or otherwise inspected. No warning lamps were present before, or after this occurred.

Secondary hood latch did not prevent hood from opening. Hood opened at approximately 30 mph on a residential street. Resulted in damaging struts and body as well as a dangerous impact to visibility. Did a generic internet search and I found recall PC343, NHTSA database shows no recalls open, neither did Nissan website.

Within the last year+ both front windows have fallen apart inside of the door and stopped working. Both times just as I hit the button to power down the window. It gets 1-2 inches and you hear everything except the glass clatter to the bottom of the door. Passenger side window never used; maybe has been opened 15-20 times. All started over 60K miles. Nothing covered by manufacturer. Had to pay extended warranty deductible. It is obviously a defect in design or material. Both times the car was stationary. Drivers side at drive thru for coffee. Passenger side sitting in parking space. This car is super pampered, garage kept and clean, no kids, no passengers, back and forth to work, 95% on 4 or 6 lane highway.

It appears the molding on the passenger side roof rack has come apart. The seal and the actual roof rack piece now flap in the wind. I did some research on this and it seems several hundred people have dealt with this issue, even after months of purchasing the vehicle. The first time I experienced this was driving down the road and I heard something hitting my roof, I figured a stick might of got caught in the roof rack or something. Every time I drive it flaps in the wind.

This is a safety concern with the interior door handles. On both the front passenger and driver doors, the plastic door handle has broken on my vehicle (pictures attached), not allowing you to exit the vehicle. To exit the vehicle you need to lower the window and open it from the outside handle. This could prove extremely hazardous if you needed to exit the vehicle quickly and the plastic handle breaks. All the pieces of this part are plastic and they handle high levels of stress pulling cables to open and unlock doors. Youtube/google is filled with videos on repairing these broken handles and people complaining about the frequency in which they break.

Both "sun" visors on verge of breaking. When putting down or up, they will make a snapping noise and hang loosely. Also, while driving they will flop down. Visors never stay up properly or safely. I've had it fall down while driving on the high way. They are not safe! spoke with dealership, they want to charge $400 for them to be fixed. The pair that's breaking is not sold separately. I've read many complaints about this issue.
