What the hell!? The dealer said it's not normal for the sunroof to blow up, but it's not a defect... then what the hell is it? Not covered of course.

sunroof / moonroof explosion sunroof / moonroof explosion sunroof / moonroof explosion

The sunroof/moonroof on my 2014 Pathfinder just exploded unprovoked. The vehicle is a lease and I have extended warranty. Nissan notified me today that they will not pay for repair under warranty. I was driving on the highway at highway speed (100 km/h), sunny early afternoon with outside temperature around 19 degrees C. The sunroof exploded unprovoked (smooth road, no vehicles in my vicinity, no debris hit the sunroof). I heard one loud popping sound, and luckily I had the sun visor drawn closed (the window was in the back tilt open position as some of the glass fell on top of the shade/sun visor. Nissan central is refusing to cover the full repair cost and would like me to submit an insurance claim, for which I have a $500 deductible. This could have caused a terrible accident/loss of vehicle control if the visor was not closed and the shattered glass portion that fell inside hit me in the face. This is a safety issue that must be corrected/recalled.
