The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that at start-up the brake light illuminated and remained illuminated continuously. Due to the failure, the vehicle could be started without depressing the brake pedal. The traction control warning light was also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to priority Nissan (14840 stonecroft center ct, chantilly, va 20151), where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was informed that the brake switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V380000 (exterior lighting). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
