The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the liftgate failed to operate as designed intermittently. The contact also stated that when the liftgate started to open, it would then immediately close independently without warning. The contact took the vehicle to welch Nissan (2505 S olive St, pine bluff, ar 71601) where the mechanic was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
