I had my alternator changed in Dec 2019. Immediately after the alternator was replaced, I reported that my lights would flicker when I rev the engine. Nissan stated that it was normal. 7 months down the line the alternator failed again and Nissan stated that "any part of any vehicle can break down at any time". The alternator failed within less than 20k km. Since the part failed within 1 year and 20 k km, Nissan said they would change the part on their expense.
My vehicle was sent to Nissan on 29th July 2020 and I got the vehicle back on 25th August 2020. This is a 2017 vehicle and it took Nissan this many weeks to get an alternator? Nissan did not give me a loaner nor did they give me a rental for this time.
Had terrible experience with Nissan and Nissan Canada. Highly unreliable vehicles. Even if they were reliable, would you think it is sensible to buy a car (3 year old vehicle) which takes the company 4 weeks to send an alternator? And not offer any alternative when the vehicle is with them for repair?
In addition, when I was talking to the Nissan representative who called me to follow up about the complaint I raised with Nissan, he was trying to make it look like this is a normal issue and every vehicle breaks down. 4 - 6 weeks wait for an alternator did not sound illogical to him.
If you have an option, please stay away from Nissan.
